There are five players remaining in the H.O.R.S.E. event, and they are now on the direct money bubble. Cory Zeidman is the most experienced player at the table, and he’s putting his know-how to good work this evening.  Zeidman is a Florida pro and a bracelet winner in Stud Hi/Lo, and he plays all the games rather well. Look at the chip lead he’s opened up:

Seat 1: George Fountoulakis – 66,000
Seat 2: Peter Walsworth – 42,000
Seat 3: Richard Levy – 13,000
Seat 4: Cory Zeidman – 171,000
Seat 5: Mike Chang – 28,000

Event 4: Round 3 Begins

$500 Heads-Up No-Limit Hold’em
Level 1: 300/600

The third round is underway for most of the remaining field. Players begin these matches with 30,000 chips, and the blinds start at 300/600. It’s the bubble round, too, with the winners advancing into the Quarterfinals and into the money. Each of the final eight players will earn at least $1,000 this evening.

There is still one Round 2 match in progress, though Schuyler Thornton has a significant chip lead over Trevor Doughty. Howard Mash awaits the winner, and this three are the only players not yet in Round 2 action.

An updated bracket will be posted when the match concludes.

Event 4: Angelo Miele the Last into Round 2

$500 Heads-Up No-Limit Hold’em
Level 7: 800/1,600

While many of the Round 2 matches are already complete, Angelo Miele and Frank Lerczak were still battling seven levels deep into their Round 1 match. It ended only a moment ago, nearly two hours after it started.

On the final hand, Miele leads the betting for 2,300 on the turn of an AcQd6h7h board. Lerczak only has 1,700 chips left in front of him, and he stands up and kneels on his chair while he deliberates.

“I need a heart,” Lerczak says, exposing his 2h4h but still considering the call for his tournament life. Finally, he splashes the rest of his chips into the middle.

“You can’t win,” Miele informs him. He shows Ah3h, and Lerczak is indeed drawing dead. The river is the meaningless 6d, and Miele’s aces up send him through to Round 2.

Event 3: Dinner Break

$500 H.O.R.S.E. (Re-Entry)

The nine remaining players are on a 45-minute dinner break. Here’s how the unofficial final table will stack up when play resumes at 9:45 PM:

Seat 1: George Fountoulakis – 36,000
Seat 2: Peter Walsworth – 81,600
Seat 3: Andrew Woodmancey – 39,000
Seat 4: Allen Green – 8,300
Seat 5: Randolph Grayson – 21,000
Seat 6: Richard Levy – 25,400
Seat 7: Cory Zeidman – 55,600
Seat 8: Mike Chang – 29,700
Seat 9: Dale Phillips – 19,500

Event 4: Four Matches Remain

Less than an hour into the event, the first round is nearly complete. There are just four matches left in play.

November Niner Joshua Beckley is one of those still doing work, matched up against local sports radio host Andy Slater. The two men are almost exactly even in chips.

Beckley is on some kind of heater right now, using the November Nine down time to sharpen his game. He won a WSOP Circuit ring just a few days ago in West Palm Beach, and he’ll be back in Las Vegas in about a month to play for a gold bracelet and $7.7 million in cash.
