From all-in and at risk with a flip on the bubble to the chip lead, Nick Yunis went on the next break with 420,000 for the biggest stack in the room. The 500 denom chips are out of play and the blue 25K chips are now in action.
Juan Madrid was the only player eliminated over the last part of the level and they return with 22 players remaining. The average stack is 183,000 for 31 big blinds at the new 3,000/6,000/1,000 level.

Event 1 pumped the brakes after the money bubble with only four players hitting the payout desk over the last level and change. Raminder Singh was the first out after the bubble after doubling Nick Yunis but he picked up another SHRP cash.
With the average stack sitting at 35 big blinds, they are in for the long grind to get to the final table and ring winner.

On the first round of hand-for-hand, Nick Yunis limped from the small blind and Raminder Singh shipped all in from the big with a slightly bigger stack. Yunis called and the two players had to wait for the action to finish on the other three tables.
Once their business was complete, the hands were tabled.
Yunis: Singh:
It was a flip and Yunis faded the suited over cards on the run out. The dealer counted down his stack and he doubled to 325,000 while leaving Singh with only 30,000.
The second hand was uneventful but the third saw Matthew Lambrecht call a 44,500 shove from the hijack while he was in the cutoff. The button and blinds released, the other tables finished their action, and the cards were flipped up.
Lambrecht: Hijack:
Lambrecht was in good shape to put the field in the money and the no-paint board sealed the deal.

As Level 16 came to an end, Event 1 reached 28 players to kick off the hand-for-hand portion of the tournament. Each table will play one hand at a time, with two minutes coming off the paused clock for each hand, until one player is eliminated to put the field in the money.

Event 1 players returned from break and they are a handful of eliminations away from making some money. Only 32 remain with 27 getting paid and everyone is chasing Roberto Bendeck.
He returned to a stack worth 354,500 and the clear leader going into bubble play. Bendeck hit his biggest score a few months ago during the SHR Hollywood WPT RRPO Championship in November. He made the final table ten but fell one spot of the WPT live-stream final table when he went out in seventh place for $79,650.

Event 1 flew through three breaks after dinner and the field was whittled down to the last four tables (minus a few heads). The black chips are coming out of play and they will return looking to make the money in the first level back.
We mentioned Martin Ryan, the defending champ from this event last February, but he is no longer in contention to repeat. Bryce McVay is still in with a chance to improve last year’s position by a little. He lost to Ryan in Event 1 last year to fall one spot short for the ring.
