Event 1 Day 1C: Joseph Patalano Among 128 Entered Thus Far

$130 No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry)
Level 4: 150/300/25 Ante

Joseph Patalano (Wellington, Fla.)

Joseph Patalano bagged just 2,000 chips in yesterday’s opening Flight A. While it might not seem like much, those 2,000 chips benefited him two-fold.

  1. All Day 2 participants are in the money. Despite claiming less than a small blind, Patalano secured himself a min-cash at worst.
  2. Players earn an additional min-cash for each time they bag after their first. So, in addition to making the money, Patalano is drawing live to earn the bonus payout in each subsequent flight he plays.

Patalano fired at least one bullet in yesterday’s 6 p.m. Flight B to no avail. He’s back at it in today’s Flight C and sits slightly above starting stack.

Event 1 Day 1C: Giddy Up and Go

Event 1 Day 1B: McAnulty Spikes a Straight

$130 No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry)
Level 6: 300/600/25 Ante

Patrick McAnulty (Sparta, Wisc.)
Patrick McAnulty (Sparta, Wisc.)

Patrick McAnulty’s prayers were answered as he got the last of his short stack in holding pocket threes. He was facing off against the pocket tens of one opponent and the K-J of another.

The flop fell 5c4c2c improving McAnulty to a straight draw. A queen on the turn was no help to any player. The river fell with a fury when the dealer burned and turned the Ad completing McAnulty’s unlikely straight. He busted the player holding pocket tens and doubled through the K-J.

McAnulty, a traveling poker dealer and floor supervisor, now holds about 8,500 chips heading to the first break.
