Event 1 Day 1D: Field Primed to be Largest Yet

$130 No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry)
Level 4: 150/300/25 Ante

Tournament Clock

With 133 players registered toward the beginning of Level 4, Flight D of Event 1 is on pace to be the largest yet. This, of course, comes as no surprise to staff who have adjusted accordingly.

In addition to tables in the cash room, they’ve made space in The Pavilion, which will serve as the primary area for tournament play tonight. With 10 additional tables, all overflow will go into the cash room and break back into The Pavilion.

Sometimes you have to improvise, and Friday night in South Florida is one of those times!

Stephen Greenstein bursts the money bubble.
Stephen Greenstein bursts the money bubble.

Stephen Greenstein burst the money bubble following just a few hands of hand-for-hand play. Zoltan Czinkota opened the action from early position and the button player shoved for less. It folded to Greenstein in the big blind and he jammed for just over 100,000. Czinkota made a painstaking fold laying down AsKs face up. Greenstein indeed had the best of it with pocket jacks versus the Q-10 of the button player.

The board ran out blanks. With that, Greenstein’s queens held and the 166-player starting field in Flight C was down to 15 and in the money.

Complete chip counts will be posted shortly.

Event 1 Day 1C: Two Tables Remain, Two Players Away from the Money

$130 No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry)
Level 15: 2,500/5,000/500 Ante
Players Remaining: 17/166

The field is down to 17 players and one away from the money bubble. After the next player goes bust, the final two tables will go hand for hand until another hits the rail. At that time, all those remaining will be on to Day 2 and in the money.

We will provide full chip counts after play concludes.

Event 1 Day 1 C: Field Finalized at 166 Entries

We’re back in action following the first break in Event 1 Flight C, today’s 11 a.m. installment of the $100,000 guarantee Coco Poker Showdown opener. The clock shows 156 players registered with registration open for about another hour.

Coincidentally, the tournament’s two biggest stacks are seated next to each other at Table 3. Miguel Martinez, who bagged Flight A, holds the chip advantage in Seat 7 with 63,000 chips. In addition to the chip lead, he has position on Tim Kegel, the self-described “resident whacko”, who’s on his left in Seat 6 with about 57,000.
