Day 3 Winds Down; A Look Ahead to Sunday’s Schedule

The Flight F clock shows 60 players remaining. The tournament is expected to wrap within the next couple hours and complete Day 2 chip counts as well as final prize pool information will be posted ASAP in the morning.

In the meantime, here’s a look ahead at Sunday’s full schedule:

Registration is closed in tonight’s 6 p.m. Flight F. The last of six starting flights in Event 1 of the Coco Poker Showdown, Flight F didn’t disappoint. With 266 players, it marked the largest of the start days and surged the combined field well past 1,100 entries. Additionally, it helped push the prize pool to $115,600, comfortably by the $100,000 guarantee.

As they did last night, Event 1 players are filing into The Pavilion, a banquet spaced used to accommodate the larger-than-expected fields in Event 1. Per usual for a Saturday, the poker room is booming with action. In order to better serve both cash and tournament grinders, the majority of tournament play will take place here with any overflow going back into the poker room

If tonight is anything like last night, the sixth and final starting flight is sure to be the largest of the lot. As of now, the clock shows nearly 200 players entered with registration open until 9:15 p.m. ET.

Event 1 Day 1F: $100K is a Thing of the Past

Level 4 in Flight F of Event 1 is underway and the $100,000 guarantee is officially a thing of the past. With the clock showing 160 entries the combined field stands at 1,050 putting the prize pool at $105,000 and growing.

Registration in the sixth and final starting flight is open until 9:15 p.m. local time and the complete attendance figure will be posted shortly thereafter.

Event 1 Day 1F: The Last of the Starting Flights Underway

January 23, 2016 @ 6:00PM

$130 No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry)
Level 1: 50/100

The clock strikes 6 p.m. and the sixth and final starting flight in Event 1 of the Coco Poker Showdown is underway. The $130 buy-in, $100,000 guaranteed opener boasts a field of 890 entries to this point. Tonight’s Flight F is all but assured to spring the total field well past 1,000 and grow the prize pool accordingly.

Players begin with 10,000 in tournament chips and log 20-minute levels throughout. Late registration/unlimited re-entry is available until the start of Level 10 (about 9:15 p.m.) with play wrapping when 9 percent of the starting field remains.

Flight E chip leader Adam Barclay (Tampa, Fla.)

With 256,000 chips, Adam Barclay, a recent college graduate from Tampa, Fla., bagged the chip lead in Flight E. The fifth of six start days, Flight E drew 210 players bringing the five-flight total to 890. Barclay advanced along with 18 others topping the Day 2 field out at an even 80 players to this point.

While Barclay’s feat was impressive, his stack still trails that of Flight A’s Alan Slakman and Flight B’s Joaquin Sosa.

Event 1 Day 1E: Danny Ortiz Bursts the Bubble; 19 Players Advance

Danny Ortiz of Coral Springs, Fla. burst the money bubble when his spiked a nine on the turn against the of an unknown opponent. The money got all in preflop with Ortiz having the unknown player covered.

With that, just 19 players remain from 210 starting. Leading the way is Adam Barclay who’s in the process of bagging 256,000 chips as we speak. That number puts him third in the overall counts through Flight E.

Event 1 Day 1E: Adam Barclay Leads with Over 200,000

Tampa’s Adam Barclay is making a run at the overall chip lead here in Flight E of the Coco Poker Showdown opener. Barclay ran hot early and has transformed his 10,000-chip starting stack to nearly 230,000. As of now, only five players have bagged over 200,000, Alan Slakman’s 280,500 leading the way through the completion of four flights.

With plenty of play left in Flight E, Barclay has more than enough time to surpass Slakman if he continues to run well.
