With nearly 90 players entered through the first four levels, Event 1 of the 2016 Coco Poker Showdown is looking like it will yield a sizable field. While the $130 buy in is low enough to entice novices, the $100,000 guarantee generates some interest among more experienced players as well. Joe Patalano and Richard Davis are among the notables entered thus far.

Both are regulars in the South Florida poker scene. Patalano owns 53 career cashes totaling more than $160,000 while Davis has some solid results of his own including a final table in a WSOP Circuit event at the Palm Beach Kennel Club.

Both players are hoping to beef up their resumes over the next 11 days here in Coconut Creek.
