Coco Poker Open Championship winner Ian O’Hara is back at Seminole Casino Coconut Creek and looks to record another title. O’Hara, a 23-year-old professional poker player from Boca Raton, defeated a field of 331 entries in the $3,500 Championship last September pocketing $212,830 and a $5,250 Seminole Hard Rock Poker Open Championship in the process.

The victory also moved him to the top of the SHRP Player of the Year race, a 10-tournament contest that he currently sits second in. If he’s able to record a follow-up cash and fade any other deep runs from other POY contenders, O’Hara will take the lead in the prestigious contest.

O’Hara is one of the most recent entries in the Coco Poker Showdown and sits at about starting stack.

The clock shows 136 entries midway through Level 4. That number has already surpassed the tournament’s $100,000 guarantee and sees the prize pool sitting at an unofficial $136,000. Among those in the action are 2015 World Series of Poker Main Event third-place finisher Neil Blumenfield.

Despite pocketing nearly $3,400,000 for the deep run, Blumenfield is not shy to play low or medium buy-ins. He finished fifth in the Coco Poker Showdown $350 yesterday earning $2,293.

Reigning Seminole Hard Rock Poker Player of the Year David Prociak holds 6,500 chips to start Level 4. On the last hand of Level 3, Prociak was in a heads-up pot with a board of . Prociak bet and his opponent shoved for 13,500. Prociak called and the opponent flipped over for a six-high straight. Prociak’s hand hit the muck and he sent a double-up across the table.

As the 2016 SHRP Player of the Year, David Prociak earned a free entry into each of the 10 SHRP Championships. This still marks entry number one in Coconut Creek, so he’s short, but freerolling.
