Santana Noronha is moving on up since contending for the chip lead following the second break. Noronha just picked up pocket eights on an board to send two players to the rail. His stack sits at about 175,000 and he’s likely the pace setter at this juncture.

With 160,000 chips, Charles Mohler holds one of the biggest stacks in the room. Most recently, he chipped up without contest. A potential straight hit the turn and he lead out for 6,000. A late position player made it 12,000 and the button went into the tank before folding. It was back on Mohler and he shoved having the late-position player covered. The late-position player folded and Mohler raked the pot.

He contends for the chip lead with dinner break about 30 minutes away.

After busting Event 6 in 11th, Adam Leavy promptly finished his dinner and bought into the Championship. Sitting with about starting stack, he opened the action only to have an opponent three-bet. Levy shoved and the opponent called.

The flop and turn came giving Levy’s opponent a freeroll to the flush. The board completed with the . Levy let out a sigh of relief and shared a laugh with his opponent.

While there’s a steady stream of players trickling in to the Championship, there’s also a steady stream hitting the rail. The clock shows 153 entries to this point. With only nine tables in play at the moment that means the field is down to 81 players.

Late registration/unlimited re-entry is available through the dinner break (until 8:10 p.m.) meaning anyone unfortunate enough to go bust can, in fact, get right back in the event.

The clock strikes 6 p.m. and the ninth and final event of the Coco Poker Showdown is off and running. Players begin the $130 pot limit Omaha/no limit hold’em tournament with 10,000-chip starting stacks and log 20-minute levels throughout. Late registration/unlimited re-entry is available until the start of Level 10. This tournament is structured as a one-day event and it’s expected to conclude during the early morning hours of Sunday.
