Players are getting ready for their first break of the day not long after the entry count hit a cool 100. We’ll have $100,000 towards the $200,000 guarantee in no time and can start thinking bigger.

Two recent entries know something about winning big tournaments. Anthony Astarita won the first-ever WPTDeepStacks Tampa Main Event in 2016 and took home more than $131,000. Zach Mullennix won the first of his three WSOP Circuit rings right here when he captured the $600 NLH title in 2019.

We caught the end of a big hand, missed the action, but saw the results. David Nathaniel doubled huge at the start of his day and sits with 89,000. His big stack came at the expense of Bernardo Abramovich.

He was down to dust and got his chips in the middle against Mark Cannon and another opponent. The board ran out AsTc9c7hJd, Cannon showed Jc8d for a jack-high straight to beat the Ac9d of Abramovich and Jc3c of his other opponent.

Kevin Dubrocq, RunGood Ambassador Bounty champ

The last warmup before the RunGood Main Event was a fun tournament on Wednesday evening. The $150 RunGood Ambassador Bounty packed the Poker Room with 336 entries and Kevin Dubrocq took the title for $5,857 after a five-way deal at the final table.

The tournament had a $20,000 guarantee and the huge crowd more than doubled that amount to put $40,320 up for grabs. But other incentives were available if anyone knocked out one of the 10 RunGood Ambassadors; ranging from a $50 RunGood gift card to a $200 NYY Steak gift certificate to straight $1,000 in cash.

The tournament was a lot of fun and our players had a great time throughout the evening. They reached the final table late in the evening and the last five players chopped up the remaining prize pool with Dubrocq taking the biggest piece, the Event 5 title, and the RunGood trophy.

Sean Shah, RunGood Poker Series Event 4 champ

The last multi-flight tournament before the Main Event kicked off on Tuesday and the RunGood Deep Stacks drew 261 entries over the two starting flights. By the end of the tournament on Wednesday, Sean Shah had an outright win for $12,079.

Those entries were enough to turn the $25,000 guarantee into a $53,505 prize pool. They saw 34 players return for Day 2 and everyone was in the money. Jacob Dolehanty came back with a big chip lead but fell short of the title in fourth place.

Shah took command of the tournament at the final table and had a huge chip lead when he began heads-up play with Patrick Tobar. The tournament was done a few hands into the match and Shah took the title.

This is his second Coco title, another trophy to go along with the one he won for capturing the 2017 Coco Poker Showdown $350 Deep Stacks.

Congrats Sean!

Sean Shah

It did not take long to settle the matter.

A few hands into heads-up play and with the board reading KhQsJd4c, Patrick Tobar checked, Sean Shah bet 370,000 and Tobar called.

The river was 8d, Tobar checked again, Shah announced all-in, and Tobar took his time to consider calling for all his chips. After two minutes, Tobar tossed in a chip to call for the rest of his 860,000.

Shah: AsTs
Tobar: QcTh

Tobar flopped a pair of queens with an open-ended straight draw but way behind Shah’s flopped Broadway straight. Tobar was eliminated in second place for $8,504 while Shah is our RunGood Poker Series Event 4 champ and earned $12,079.
