Main Event: James Kirvin Nearly Quadruples Up

James Kirvin

James Kirvin found an unlikely (near) quadruple up on the first hand back from dinner. He open-shoved for 47,000 and Dominique Mosley called. Nick Yunis raised to 160,000 to get a fold from Mosley and heads-up against Kirvin.

Kirvin: AsTs
Yunis: AcKh

“Uh oh,” Kirvin laughed when he saw the hands.

Kirvin blanked the 7s6c3h flop and the Jh turn but binked the Td river. Between Mosley’s dead money and the blinds/antes, Kirvin went from 47,000 to 181,000 against a single opponent. For Yunis, it was barely a dip to his stack.

James Kirvin – 181,000 (11 bb)
Martin Ryan – 1,723,000 (108 bb)

While that hand was going on, we had three quick eliminations to get the field down to 26 players and tournament staff are redrawing the last three tables.

27th: Kevin Blewitt – $5,919
28th: Tyler Phillips – $5,143
29th: John Gorsuch – $5,143
