Event 1: Depersio Building As Well

$350 Deep Stack No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry)
End of Level 20: 8,000/16,000/2,000 Ante

John Depersio (Parkland, FL)
John Depersio (Parkland, FL)

Players are off on another 15-minute break with John Depersio joining Steve Raeman over the million chip mark, getting there with a river knockout.

Depersio was ahead in the hand when the chips went in preflop with his kings versus sevens. His opponent hit a set on the turn but the fourth spade on the board matched one of Depersio’s kings.

Depersio is on a nice little heater the last few days. While the rest of the field was playing in 1A and 1B, he was busy earning his first WSOP Circuit ring.

We’ll be back with a full set of counts from the 31 remaining players.

Event 1: Raeman Running Away

Level 19: 8,000/16,000/2,000 Ante

Steve Raeman (Pompano Beach, FL)
Steve Raeman (Pompano Beach, FL)

In the short amount of time it took us to check in on the HORSE event, Steve Raeman went ahead and took the top spot all for himself. He had over 500,000 at the last break but became the first player to go over 1 million.

He’s closing in on 1.2 million with one million alone in the grey 5K chip stacks. They are very close to getting down to the last four tables and we’ll pick up detailed action as they near the big money.

Event 3: Registration Closed

$500 H.O.R.S.E. (Re-Entry)
Level 7: 800/1,600 Limits

Robert Campbell (North Miami, FL)
Robert Campbell (North Miami, FL)

Registration has closed for the HORSE event with the unofficial number of 32 entrants showing on the board. We’ll have official numbers after accounting is complete but it looks like there will be a healthy bonus on top for players in the game.

Robert Campbell is one new face we haven’t seen so far this series. While he plays the No Limit Hold’em games, he seems to have a specialty.

Campbell has over $800,000 in career earnings including twelve victories, all of which came in one form of Omaha/8 except one. He won the $240 Pot Limit Omaha/8 last year during the 2014 Coco Poker Open and he earned a WSOP Circuit ring in 2009 in the limit version.

They are schedule to go on a dinner break shortly after 7pm and we’ll get an idea who’s out front for the title.

We had to look at the stacks a few times, and double check our double check, until we confirmed that both Steve Raeman and Faycal Bennouna each had exactly 539,000 at the first break of the day.

The two are alone at the top with Bruce Snell, David Albertson, Hyndi Khomutetsky, and Jose Silva over the 400K mark. They are tops of the 66 remaining players as we quickly play deep into the cash.

Steve Raeman – 539,000 (54 bb)
Faycal Bennouna – 539,000 (54 bb)
Bruce Snell – 470,000 (47 bb)
David Albertson – 430,000 (43 bb)
Hyndi Khomutetsky – 423,000 (42 bb)
Jose Silva – 404,000 (40 bb)

Event 1: Running Away

$350 Deep Stack No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry)
Level 17: 4,000/8,000/500 Ante

As sure as the occasional South Florida downpour (which is going on right now), players began a quick exodus from Event 1 as soon as they were in the money with the average stack around 22 big blinds.

The short stacks loosened up looking for a double or payout and we lost three tables worth of players in the next 15 minutes. They are heading off on break and we will grab a list of those who cashed so far

Ron Cheatwood (Ft Myers, FL)
Ron Cheatwood (Ft Myers, FL) is the Event 1 bubble

They certainly worked fast getting to the money bubble but they were in no hurry once they went to hand-for-hand action. It took 13 total hands, one at a time, and most of Level 16 to finally get down to 90 players.

There were a half dozen double ups during that time with no eliminations. Evan Teitelbaum was second in chips at the start of play but ran his stack down to 55,000 before he needed a double of his own.

Scott Efron was very short but caught best in a three-way all-in versus Angelo Miele and Lisa Teebagy, no shorties were harmed.

They finally got there when the micro-stacked “Captain Ron” Cheatwood moved all-in with Qc5h and Yves Fequiere quickly called with 9s9h. They had to wait for their fate as the other tables finished up but Cheatwood never found help as the dealer spread Kd7s3sAh2d.

Event 1: No Messing Around

$350 Deep Stack No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry)
Level 15: 2,500/5,000/500 Ante

There were a few short stacks among the 122 returning players and they have not fared well. Just 20 minutes into the restart and the field is one table break away from hitting the money.

There are 99 players remaining with the last 90 getting paid, we’ll keep up as they get closer but expect hand-for-hand action any moment at this pace.
