After very little action over the first 30 minutes of the new level, two big pots saw a lot of chips change hands.

The first one started when Ian O’Hara opened to 65,000 and Chad Bradbury moved all-in for 470,000. Kunal moved in over the top from the small blind to get heads up.

Patel: KsKd
Bradbury: 9c9d

The dealer put a nine right in the window on the 9s6h4d flop, Patel couldn’t catch a miracle to drop to 375,000 while Bradbury doubled over 1 million.

Patel wasted no time and moved all-in on the next hand from the button after a Glenn Becker UTG open. It was a quick call and Patel was in trouble.

Patel: Th8h
Becker: QdQs

The AhKd5h flop gave Patel a flush draw, he missed the 6s turn but it completed on the Kh river for his double.

Kunal Patel – 810,000 (27 bb)
Glenn Becker – 1,125,000 (38 bb)
Chad Bradbury – 1,055,000 (35 bb)

Action folded to Ian O’Hara on the button and he asked Ivan Starostin to lift his hands so O’Hara could get a peek at his short stack. O’Hara then raised to 50,000, Chad Bradbury released his small blind, and Starostin moved all-in for 185,000.

O’Hara quickly called with Ac9c and Starostin was looking good with KcKs. The 9s9h2c flop changed all that and trip nines were good as the board ran out 3dJs to send Starostin out in 9th place.

Paul Balzano moved all-in for approximately 200,000 and Marsha Wolak quickly shoved next to act. The rest of the table moved out of the way and Wolak was ahead with Ah4h against 9s8d.

Balzano had a shot but Wolak quickly shut the door on the Qh8h2h flop. Only running miracle cards could help Balzano but the 3s turn had him drawing dead to the Kd river.

Tournament staff counted down the stacks and Wolak had Balzano covered 235,000 to 213,000. Balzano hit the payout desk in 11th place and they are redrawing the last ten players for the final table.
