Event 3 rounded out the first weekend on the WSOP Circuit schedule with a bigger buy-in tournament that produced a great field. It had a $1,125 buy-in and featured a $50,000 guaranteed prize pool that was easily beat. SHRP regular Zachary Mullennix outlasted everyone and dominated the late stages of the final table to earn his second WSOP Circuit ring.

The tournament saw 89 entries get in the game to put $89,000 in the prize pool with the last 14 spots getting paid. It played down to the final table ten late on Day 1 and Jake Dollinger bagged the biggest returning stack.

Ryan Van Sanford was not far behind at the start of Day 2 and took command early. He was the first player to stack more than one million chips at the final table as Richard Rice, Erik Christensen, Jackie Lee, and Haim Toorgeman hit the rail and Sam Panzica continued to stay in the game with several doubles.

Dollinger’s downfall in sixth place vaulted Mullennix into a virtual tie with Van Sanford. The lead swapped after when Mullennix took a 500K pot from Van Sanford shortly before WSOP bracelet/WSOPC ring winner David Prociak went out in fifth place.

Wilfor Marentes exited the tournament in fourth place to set up a shocking end to the tournament. Mullennix, Van Sanford, and Paniza each picked up pocket pairs and the chips went in the middle. Mullennix’ pockets queens held against Van Sanford’s eights and Panzica’s deuces and Event 3 was settled.

Mullennix won his second WSOP Circuit ring to go along with the one he took home from our February series. He has more than $300,000 in career earnings and this is the third best cash of his career with his top prize coming this summer with a WSOP final table in Las Vegas.

Ryan Van Sanford opened to 30,000 from the button and Sam Panzica moved all in from the small blind for 350,000. Zachary Mullennix reshipped from the big blind with his chip leading stack, Van Sanford thought for a minute and called for the massive three-way all-in.

Mullennix was way out front to end the tournament right there and put a virtual lock on it after the flop. Van Sanford and Panzica needed a miracle, picked up four chop outs on the turn, but it all ended when the gave Mullennix the overkill river boat.

Panzica took home $11,191 for third place, Van Sanford earned $16,232 for second, and Mullennix banked $26,412 for the win plus his second WSOP Circuit ring.

Ryan Van Sanford opened to 30,000 from under the gun, Zachary Mullennix called from the small blind, and the flop came . Mullennix checked, Van Sanford bet 25,000 and Mullennix called.

The turn was , Mullennix checked again, Van Sanford vet 80,000 and Mullennix called. The river finished the board, Mullennix checked, and Van Sanford put out 210,000. Mullennix thought for a minute and checked-raised all in to get a fold from Van Sanford.

David Prociak and Ryan Van Sanford were heads up with the board complete reading and Prociak checked. Van Sanford pushed out a barrel of 25k chips, enough to cover Prociak if he called.

He thought for a few minutes, called for his last ~280,000 and confidently tabled for aces up. Van Sanford flipped over for the flopped set and to send Prociak out in fifth place.
