The books are closed for the first three flights of WSOP Circuit Event 2 and the 872 entries in the game so far means hitting the $300,000 guaranteed prize pool is merely a formality. Only 38 are needed to hit the mark and they have more than that registered before Flight D gets underway.
The fourth flight gets underway at 4 pm and players will sit down to 15,000 starting stacks. The first 24 levels will last 30 minutes and they will increase to 45 minutes from Level 25 until the end. Late registration and unlimited re-entries are available until the start of Level 9 at 8:20 pm.
The top 15% of the field will make the money and the last 8% will advance to Day 2 on Sunday at noon.

Event 2 on the WSOP Circuit schedule is at the midway point with two of the four starting flights in the books. Flights A and B of the $400 buy-in tournament combined to put 485 entries to put it on pace to easily hit the $300,000 Guarantee later this afternoon. Only 425 entries are needed to get there and they might do it in Flight C.
Flight C gets underway at 11 am in The Pavilion with players sitting down to 15,000 starting stacks. The first 24 levels will last 30 minutes and they will increase to 45 minutes from Level 25 until the end. Late registration and unlimited re-entries are available until the start of Level 9 at 3:20 pm.
The top 15% of the field will make the money and the last 8% will advance to Day 2 on Sunday at noon.
Cards fly at the top of the hour and we will pick up tournament coverage at 3:30 pm after registration closes.

With 1:03 remaining in Level 17, Christian Smith went big and ended the night for Flight B. He knocked Paul Valenzuela out in 20th place and gave another player a hit to move up to 406,500. That is good enough to lead Flight B and it puts him fourth overall after two flights.

We expected a slow down after the last break but they are cruising right along. We had six more players drop to leave Flight B very close to wrapping up when they hit 19.
David Dibernardi, defending champion from February, cashed in Flight A and cashed again here in Flight B. He has two more chanced tomorrow to advance to Day 2.

Similar to Flight A, the bubble process took a bit of time to work itself out. There was little action over the first six hands but we had two big ones on the seventh.
On Table 7, Ryan Van Sanford opened to 6,500 from early position, one player called, and Fred Dabus moved all in for 46,000 from the small blind. Van Sanford reshipped with his big stack to get a fold from the third player.

On Table 1, action folded to big stack Eric Polirer in the small blind and he moved all in. Short-stacked David Moreno called all in for his last 15,500 in the big blind.
