John DePersio was staying active.

“I’m the only one trying to knock people out,” he joked.

Soon after he eliminated Haim Toorgeman, Nagui Yassa put his 313,000 in the middle and DePersio called with a chance for another knockout. His 9h9d was in trouble against QsQd and the Jh5d3d5sQc board sent a double to his neighbor.

A few hands later, Rodney Moret-Rojas open-shoved for 263,000 and DePersio called from the small blind.

Moret-Rojas: Ah7h
DePersio: QhQc

DePersio found another big hand but Moret-Rojas hit the AdTh4d flop. The 9h turn and 6h river finished the board for Moret-Rojas’ double.

Haim Toorgeman

The two big stacks at the final table went to battle once again. In early action, Haim Toorgeman doubled into the lead through John DePersio into the lead but DePersio soon moved back on top.

After Toorgeman sent a double across the table, he opened soon after for 75,000 and DePersio three-bet to 200,000 from the button. Toorgeman quickly announced all in and DePersio called after getting the count of 736,000.

DePersio: KdKc
Toorgeman: AsKs

DePersio was dominating and moved much further ahead on the Kh4d3d flop. The board finished 9s and 2s for the shocking end of Toorgeman while DePersio stacked up more than half of the chips in play with seven remaining.

DePersio: AdKc
Toorgeman: AhJs

Toorgeman had kicker issues and stood up in anticipation of his knockout. Then he sat back down after the dealer put out the Jc turn for his aces up. The 4s river changed nothing and Torgeman picked up a huge double.

“I tried guys,” DePersio joked with the table.

Conrad: AdJc
Yassa: KhJh

He was ahead, faded the 9h7h3c flop, and paired the Js turn with a better kicker. The Th river filled the flush draw for Yassa and he was down to less than a big blind. No miracle comeback and John DePersio knocked him out on the next hand to set the final table.
