Multi-way action saw a handful of players — including Paul Balzano — get 400 in the pot preflop. The dealer burned and turned and a trio of players got 700 in the pot. The turn fell the and an early-position player checked to Balzano. He bet 1,200 and a late-position player quickly plopped his last roughly 6,000 in the middle. The early-position player folded and Balzano casually called.

One year ago this WSOP Circuit ran at the Seminole Hard Rock just south in Hollywood. Like this series, it boasted a dozen ring events and saw two players earn $10,000 seats in the Global Casino Championship. One of those seats went to the Main Event champion, while the other went to Nagui Yassa.

Yassa recorded two final tables and two top-25s — including a 24th-place finish in the Main Event — during that series earning Casino Champion honors. As such, he punched a ticket to the WSOP Circuit’s season-ending Global Casino Championship where he represented the Seminole Hard Rock competing for a prize pool in excess of $1,000,000 along with a gold bracelet.

Yassa is back at it here in Coconut Creek and hopes to again stand above the rest with a solid 12 days of poker.
