We finally had a big pot play out and it was a three-handed affair between Joe Levitt, Joelle Guarino, and Nathan Horton. Seemed a pretty standard hand until the turn left the board reading . Then things went pretty quickly.

All the chips went in the middle with Norton having the other two covered but all three thinking they had a good shot at the hand.

Horton had the best hand until the turn when the three-ball gave Levitt a straight and Guarino a full hose. Horton was left drawing to four outs for the bigger boat which was more likely than Levitt hitting his straight flush.

The river was a blank to give Guarino the triple up to 80,000 while Levitt picked up a tiny side pot. It didn’t do him much good and he was gone shortly afterwards while Horton grinds along.

Things are crawling along on Day 2 with no major developments in the first half of Level 11. Understandable when you consider the average stack was 63 big blinds deep at the restart and a long ways from the money.

One table has broken from the loss of some shorties including Elliott Zaydman, but everyone seems to be taking their time mixing it up.

There’s only one thing left to do in the 2015 Coco Poker Open, all the prelim and post-lim events are in the books and we just have to find out who will be the Coco Poker Open Champion. There are 135 players remaining from the starting 410 entrants and they still have some work to do.

The last 45 will each earn a piece of the $1,000,000 prize pool and it will take some time to get there. Jean “Prince” Gaspart bagged up the most chips in 1C which was good enough for the over all lead returning today. There are plenty of top players lurking just behind including Aaron Mermelstein, Ryan Van Sanford, Faraz Jaka, Corey Burbick, and Jason Mercier in the top ten.

They are schedule to play down to 36 players, or 27 if time permits, and they’ll return tomorrow for the final day. Players are unbagging their chips and will be underway shortly.

The clock has run out on Day 1C, and 75 of the original 207 players have bagged up for the night.

Thanks in part to a vicious end-of-day rush, Prince Gaspard amassed the big stack of 258,300. That’s plenty good enough to lead the Day 1C survivors, and it gives him the overall chip lead heading into the combined Day 2.

The clock is paused with 10 minutes left in the level, and a card is drawn. It’s five, so each table will play that many more hands before the bags come out for the survivors.

Prince Gaspard is the runaway Day 1C chip leader right now, and he’ll be in contention for the overall chip lead entering Day 2 if nothing significant changes in these final hands.

First in from middle position, Matt Waxman opens to 2,500. A player in late position calls, and the big blind squeezes all in for 23,000 total. Waxman calls with the covering stack, and the third player ducks out of the way.

The day’s final level is underway, and the battle atop the leaderboard is tightly contested.

Faraz Jaka appears to have the field pipped right now, sitting with just shy of 200,000 chips in front of him. Prince Gaspard and James Brown have about 180,000 apiece, and Michael Luo was right there with them until just a moment ago.

In his most recent hand, Luo and his opponent were heads up on the turn of a board. Luo was the bettor, and he led for 20,000 into a pot of about 35,000. His opponent moved all in for 96,200, and Luo spent several minutes in the tank. He eventually folded, slipping back down the leaderboard just a bit.

Luo’s stack of 155,000 still puts him well above average, but everyone is chasing Jaka at the moment.

There are 41 minutes left in Day 1C.

There’s about 9,000 in the pot as the dealer spreads a suited flop. Faraz Jaka is first to act from the big blind, and he checks. Abbey Daniels, who was the early-position aggressor preflop, continues for 3,500. Matt Waxman calls from the button, and Jaka check-raises to 13,500. Daniels quickly calls, but Waxman folds out of the way.

Heads up now, the turn is the , and Jaka leads for 28,000. Daniels calls.

The river is the , and Jaka moves all in for 37,000. By this point, Daniels is suspecting something sinister, and for the first time in the hand, her decision does not come immediately. After a few seconds, though, she calls Jaka down.

“You have it?” she asks as she slides the chips into the pot.

Jaka does have it. He shows for the flush, and Daniels mucks. Since her opponent was all in, though, her is flashed face-up by the dealer. The set of jacks is no good.

“How do I have the third best hand on that flop?” Waxman asks, claiming he folded ace-queen.
