Jerome Bradpiece, Event 7 Champion
Jerome Bradpiece, Event 7 Champion

When playing Omaha/8, nothing is ever easy. High hands get chopped, low hands get quartered, and potential deals go sideways. The last 30 minutes of Event 7 featured more conversation than action before the last six players came to an agreement to chop up the remaining prize pool money.

Unlike most chop deals, this one they are handling on their own and Jerome Bradpiece was declared the Event 7 champion with his big stack. He officially picks up the biggest chunk of cash plus the $2,500 Championship seat for his efforts.

John Holley (Destin, FL)

John Holley is among the chip leaders, sitting with just over 80,000 chips. Holly is a relative local from Destin, up in the panhandle of the state. He’s a semi-professional player with more than $1.1 million in career earnings, though he’s never cashed in this building.

Event 7: Last Level to Enter

Brian Gelrod (West Palm Beach, FL)
Brian Gelrod (West Palm Beach, FL)

Event 7 has reached Level 6 giving players their last chance to get in the game or re-enter if their stack hits the felt. There are 66 entrants showing on the clock with one of them belonging to Coco Poker regular Brian Gelrod.

Gelrod has four career final table appearances with three of them coming here. He did it twice this year, both in Omaha/8, with one during the Coco Poker Showdown and the other at the Coco Poker Spring Series.

We’ll have a final count once they close the books on the Event 7 and count the numbers.

Event 7: Ritacco Doubles Before Break

$240 Omaha Hi/Lo (Re-Entry)
Level 5: 300/600 Limits

Patrick Ritacco (Boca Raton, FL)
Patrick Ritacco (Boca Raton, FL)

It’s a limit game, so we don’t expect to see very many big swings in the early levels with the stack and bet sizes. We had one player in the entire field double his stack over the first four levels.

Patrick Ritacco ran his 10,000 starting stack up to 22,650 in two short hours for a clear lead over the rest of the players. Claudangelo Beaudouin, Alex Cohen, Jeffrey Cookson, and Joe Pantalano round out the top five.

Ritacco has two reported tournament cashes with both in Omaha/8 games, the last coming earlier this year when he final tabled the 2015 Coco Poker Showdown version.

Patrick Ritacco – 22,650 (38 big bets)
Claudangelo Beaudouin – 17,475 (29 big bets)
Alex Cohen – 17,200 (29 big bets)
Jeffrey Cookson – 17,100 (29 big bets)
Joseph Pantalano – 16,825 (28 big bets)
Robert Campbell – 15,925 (27 big bets)
Brian Gelrod – 12,175 (20 big bets)
John Holley – 10,000 (17 big bets)
Luis Santoni – 4,900 (8 big bets)
