James Kirvin

James Kirvin found an unlikely (near) quadruple up on the first hand back from dinner. He open-shoved for 47,000 and Dominique Mosley called. Nick Yunis raised to 160,000 to get a fold from Mosley and heads-up against Kirvin.

Kirvin: AsTs
Yunis: AcKh

“Uh oh,” Kirvin laughed when he saw the hands.

Kirvin blanked the 7s6c3h flop and the Jh turn but binked the Td river. Between Mosley’s dead money and the blinds/antes, Kirvin went from 47,000 to 181,000 against a single opponent. For Yunis, it was barely a dip to his stack.

James Kirvin – 181,000 (11 bb)
Martin Ryan – 1,723,000 (108 bb)

While that hand was going on, we had three quick eliminations to get the field down to 26 players and tournament staff are redrawing the last three tables.

27th: Kevin Blewitt – $5,919
28th: Tyler Phillips – $5,143
29th: John Gorsuch – $5,143

Nick Yunis

Only ten minutes remain in Level 21 which means the dinner break will likely get here before they redraw the last three tables of the Main Event.

Nick Yunis continues to run well and leads with 1,635,000. We will do a closer inspection while they are gone but he is nicely out in front at the moment.

32nd: David Feigenbaum – $4,530

35th: Peter Walsworth – $4,044

Matthew Zarcadoolas

Action folded to Matthew Zarcadoolas on the button and he moved all in for 118,000. Nick Yunis folded his small blind and Martin Ryan called in the big.

Zarcadoolas: QdQh
Ryan: AsKd

Another one of those races and Zarcadoolas’s queens held on the non-paint Th7d5c6d9s runout.

Matthew Zarcadoolas – 252,000 (21 bb)
Martin Ryan – 620,000 (52 bb)

Terri-Anne Crawford

Another handful of players hit the payout desk but action has definitely slowed over the last half of Level 20. With the average stack sitting at 50 big blinds, that is no surprise.

Joelle Guarino was one of the more recent eliminations and that means SHR Tampa Poker regular Terri-Anne Crawford is the last woman standing in the Main Event. She’s still sitting comfortably with 454,000 as the field nears the last four tables.

Dominique Mosley

Dominique Mosley opened to 20,000 from middle position and Matthew Yorra three-bet to 100,000 from the cutoff. The button and blinds folded and Mosley moved all in for 240,000 total. Yorra called with the bigger stacks and Mosley was at risk.

Mosley: AhKd
Yorra: QsQc

It was a race and Mosley moved ahead on the AcJsJc flop. The board finished with the 9h turn and 8s and the February 2018 WSOP Circuit Coco High Roller champ doubled up.

Dominique Mosley – 505,000 (51 bb)
Matthew Yorra – 160,000 (16 bb)

Players are enjoying another 10-minute break and will return to blinds at 5,000/10,000 with a 10,000 ante. The average stack 411,000 and 41 big blinds.

John Gorsuch

Neil Blumenfield came into Day 2 with a nice stack but not much went well after that point. His day came to an end in 71st place after John Gorsuch cracked his aces with queens when the other two queens showed up on the board.

Gorsuch, who made a bit of noise this summer when he won the WSOP Millionaire Maker, is up to 175,000 as the field quickly drops.

Allen “Chainsaw” Kessler

The quick bubble was beneficial to a few players including Allen “Chainsaw” Kessler. He was down to 3.5 big blinds and made it into the money. After the break, he put those chips in the middle in a three-way pot after only seeing one of his cards. It was an ace which was good enough to get them in.

The board ran out 9s6d4d4s7d and Todd Mercer put out a big stack of chips and picked up a call from the other live stack. Mercer’s 6h6c was good for a boat over his opponent’s Qd8d flush.

Then Kessler checked his hole cards and was surprised to see his second card was an ace as well. He picked up a short-stacked AdAs but it was third best by the river.

This is Kessler’s 87th WSOP Circuit cash and 165 overall WSOP cash, third-most all-time.

Not long after Kessler was eliminated, Mercer sent Ryan Van Sanford out as well to move his stack up to 778,000.
