Carlos Rojas

Players were sent on their third break of the day, most likely the last, while tournament staff pulled the purple chips out of play and put some 25K chips into play.

One huge stack jumped out at us during the break with Carlos Rojas way ahead of the rest of the field, stacked up to 446,000 and the closest competitor is Ron Johnston with 288,000. Errol Massey, Charles Odenz, and Loni Hui round out the top five as they get closer to the money bubble.

Carlos Rojas – 446,000 (112 bb)
Ron Johnston – 288,000 (72 bb)
Errol Massey – 203,000 (51 bb)
Charles Odenz – 197,000 (49 bb)
Loni Hui – 191,000 (48 bb)

Level 14:  1,500/3,000 with a 3,000 ante
Day 1A Players Remaining:  43 of 200

James Salmon

FormerHollywood champ James Salmon is making a move late in the day. We caught the end of a hang with the board reading 8d5d5hAdTh and he put in a stack of chips to cover the remaining amount in front of Juan Endara.

He elected to fold his hand and keep his stack while Salmon moved up to 178,000 as the money bubble nears.

Event 1 Day 1B: Tables Down; Errol Massey Up

Errol Massey

Another table was broken and the Day 1A field is down to 70 players with only 25 advancing to Day 2.

Another big stack emerged and Errol Massey is now among the leaders with 163,000. It looks like a good chunk of those chips came from Peter Horenstein at this table who dropped under 100K.

Event 1 Day 1A: Skip McDonough Leads After Second Break

Skip McDonough

The second break came to an end with 200 entries showing on the board. Tournament staff are tallying the numbers and we will post once official.

We have a new leader in the room; in fact, we have three new big stacks. Skip McDonough is out front of the rest with 187,500 and two seats to his left we have Rachael Pampinella in third with 167,500. The second spot belongs to Peter Horenstein with 178,500.

Event 1 Day 1A: Loni Hui Shows Up and Triples Up

$400 Super Stack No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry)
$100,000 Guaranteed | Structure
Level 10:  600/1,200 with a 1,200 ante
Day 1A Entries:  186

Loni Hui

Loni Hui was one of the late entries as the clock ticks down to closing registration. We caught up with her in a three-way pot with the flop reading 7d6d5s.

She checked, Pedro Palacio moved all in for 16,400 and Dimitry Agrachov called on the button. Hui called all in at risk for 13,800 and the cards were tabled.

Hui: 9h8h
Palacio: QhQs
Agrachov: 4d4h

Hui flopped the joint and was dominating the other two who needed to catch running cards to beat her. The Kc turn locked up the hand to leave Palacio and Agrachov drawing dead to the Jd river.

Hui tripled up, Palacio picked up a tiny rebate with his queens, and the hit didn’t hurt Agrachov that hard.

Loni Hui – 65,200 (54 bb)
Pedro Palacio – 5,20000 (4 bb)
Dimitry Agrachov – 120,000 (100 bb)

Players keep showing up and jumping into the first flight of the first event of the RunGood Poker Series. With 170 entries so far, the tournament is already more than halfway to the $100,000 guarantee so that milestone will be hit tomorrow and we can start aiming higher.

A few more notables in today’s field include Rich Kelleher, Richard Rice, and former Seminole Hard Rock Poker Player of the Year Ory Hen.

Level 7:  300/600 with a 600 ante
Day 1A Entries:  150

David McMahon

Players are back from break with an even 150 entries with many more expected over the next two hours of play. That $100,000 guarantee is going to be crushed with two more weekend flights to go.

David McMahon made the most of his first two hours in the Poker Room and leads the field after the break with 113,900. We found two more stacks over 100K with Dan Blackburn (106,500) and Julio Ruiz (103,900) the closest to McMahon.
