Daniel Pearlman

In a four-way pot, the board was KhTc6h. The small blind checked as did Daniel Pearlman in the big blind. It was on Miguel Martinez under the gun and he checked, too. A player in middle position, who appeared to be near the top of the counts at the time, bet 20,200. All but Pearlman folded.

Now heads up, the turn fell the 3h. Pearlman checked again. The opponent bet 36,500. Pearlman verified the bet before calling.

The river fell the Ad. Pearlman checked a third time. The opponent pushed forward a bet that looked like 44,400. Pearlman insta-called, casually plopping a purple 500 chip in the middle. The opponent tabled AxAx for a set but was second best to Pearlman’s Th4h flush. The opponent mucked just as fast as Pearlman had called.

Pearlman – 265,000

Luminita Petric

Luminita Petric is among the chip leaders late in Day 1. She’s continuing a good run of play that came to a head during yesterday’s $560. She participated in five-way chop in the event, finishing fourth for $6,951.

Here in the Championship, Petric has been consistently building a stack throughout the day. Recently, in a four-way, raised pot, action checked to Petric in middle position. She bet 10,500 and the other three players in the hands mucked with little hesitation. Petric took the pot and he stack grew to 300,000.

Marsha Wolak

Marsha Wolak is in the midst of another solid run in a Seminole Casino Coconut Creek event. She final tabled the Coco Poker Open Championship last September, ultimately finishing fourth for $70,000. Back at it in the Coco Poker Showdown, she recently hit a straight flush to bust an opponent and cross the 100,000-chip mark.

According to the table, the board laid Jd9c8c. Wolak was in position in a heads-up pot. Her opponent checked and Wolak bet. The opponent made a modest raise and Wolak called. The turn fell the 6c. Both players checked. The river was the 5c and the opponent moved all in for about 20,000. Wolak quickly called tabling 7c7x for a straight flush. The opponent claimed AxJx for top pair and was left stunned.

The hand earned Wolak a healthy pot and her stack grew to 120,000.
