After Joey Weissman eliminated Victor Figueroa in 3rd place when they got it all in on a ten high flop with Victor holding A-T and Joey pocket jacks, Weissman and Harrison Gimbel decided to make a deal. Harrison had a slight chip lead and would receive $25,205 and the trophy while Weissman would receive an excellent consolation prize of $25,000 – a nice follow up to the 7th place finish he had a few days earlier. Gimbel, best known for his $2 million + win at the PCA a few years back was all smiles after the win. “You don’t get two or three handed all that often in poker so when you do it’s a lot of fun.” Both Weissman and Gimbel are going to get some rest before taking part in the Championship Event later today. Congratulations Harrison!

What happens when you have deep stacks and skilled players? You don’t see many all in confrontations or big pots and it takes some time to get down to the end. Such is the case in this event as Victor Figueroa, Harrison Gimbel, and Joey Weissman have exchanged the chip lead at some point in the past two hours and no player is in immediate danger of being eliminated due to being a short stack.

Championship Event: $3,500 NLHE (Re-entry)

Play concluded with 74 players of the original 182 entrants making it through to Day 2 on Sunday. Jordan Cristos from Palmdale, CA leads the way with 205,200. It’s still very even between the three remaining players. Joey Weissman holds the chip lead with 531K. Harrison Gimbel has 454K and Victor Figueroa has 440K. It’s definitely anyone’s game at the present time. They’ll be coming back to blinds of 4K/8K with a 1K ante.

Harrison Gimbel opened from the small blind to 15K and was called by Joey Weissman out of the big blind. The flop came and a betting war ensued. First Harrison led out for 14K. That was raised by Joey to 32K. Gimbel popped it to 58K which led to another raise from Joey, this time to 86K. Harrison thought for a moment and announced he was all in and was quickly called by Weissman. Gimbel held for top pair with a weak kicker – he was behind by a wide margin as Joey had 8d] for top two pair. The turn and river came and Weissman doubles to 550K while Gimbel falls to 450K. Victor Figueroa is not far behind at 425K.

We’ve finally lost a person as Chad Eveslage 4 bet shoved against Harrison Gimbel and was dominated when his King-Jack was up against Harrison’s King-Queen. Gimbel’s hand held up and Chad is our 4th place finisher.

Event 9:  $1,650 Six-Max Purple Chip Bounty NLH (Re-entry)

Play is very deliberate. Most hands are taking upwards of 2-3 minutes as the remaining four think through every decision. Approximate chip counts as they play blinds of 3K/6K with a 1K ante are Harrison Gimbel with 550K, Victor Figueroa with 375K, Joey Weissman with 375K and Chad Richard is the short stack with 125K (still over 20 big blinds though).

Championship Event: $3,500 NLHE (Re-entry)

They are under 100 players as they play Level 9. Play will end at the completion of Level 10, which is less than 90 minutes from now. Jordan Cristos continues to lead with 240K but Matt Waxman is nipping at his heels as he has chipped up to 170K.

Event 11: $200 Double Green Chip Bounty No Limit Hold’em (Re-entry)

We’re down to 7 in this event playing at blinds of 400/800 with a 100 ante. Jason Bartholomew, winner of Event 1, is among the players still in the running.

There isn’t much to report at the present time. The chip stacks are remaining stagnant as they are playing with deep stacks and there haven’t been any big all in confrontations. Action is either typically raise and everyone else folds or raise, 3 bet, fold. We’ll have updated chip stacks on their next break.
