Championship Event: 10th Place – Uri Tenenboim ($12,000)

$2,500 No Limit Hold’em Championship Event
Blinds: 10K/20K/3K ante

Uri Tenenboim opened to 50,000 and Hans Winzelar raised to 115,000. It was folded back to Tenenboim who moved the rest of his stack all in. He was snap-called by Winzelar who had woken up with AsAh. Tenenboim turned over his hand, 6s6d, and asked the dealer for a six.

She put out an ace though on the AdQh7h flop and Tenenboim was drawing dead after the 5h turn. The meaningless river was the 8c and Tenenboim was eliminated in tenth place for $12,000.

Championship: Fariab Dodges Belly Buster

$2,500 No Limit Hold’em Championship Event
Blinds: 10K/20K/3K ante

Iraj Fariab limped in middle position then called a raise to 55,000 from Stewart Newman to the 9c8s6s flop. Fariab bet out 100,000 before Newman put him all-in for his final 380,000.

Fariab called and was at risk with top pair Qs9h against Newman’s double belly buster draw QcTc. The As changed nothing and Fariab hit the overkill trip Nines on the 9s for a big double.

Championship Event: Newman Keeps Surviving

$2,500 No Limit Hold’em Championship Event
Blinds: 10K/20K/3K ante

John Dolan opened for 40,000 and David Hass raised it up just a little more than the minimum to 70,000. It was folded to Stewart Newman who moved all in for 394,000 total. Dolan got out of the way but Hass quickly called.

Newman had AdKs and would need to improve as Hass had KcKd. The dealer wasted no time moving Newman into the lead as he put out a flop of AcQc5h. The turn was the Ts prompting Hass to ask the dealer for a jack to split the pot. The river was the 8d though and Newman, who was down to just 42,000 a couple hours ago, doubled up to approximately 850,000. Hass lost a little less than half his stack on the hand and has approximately 550,000.

Championship: Quads for Bruce

$2,500 No Limit Hold’em Championship Event
Blinds: 10K/20K/3K ante

Iraj Fariab opened for a min-raise with Bruce Snell and Ryan Van Sandford came along to see the 9d6h5h flop. Fariab checked and Snell fired out 75,000 with only Van Sanford coming along to the 7c turn.

Snell checked this time and called after Van Sanford bet out 140,000. The 9s river prompted Snell to action once again for a smooth 175,000 bet and Van Sanford called after a minute of silent contemplation. Snell tabled 9c9h for rivered quads to move over 1,700,000 and take the chip lead.

Championship: Hass Takes Some From Hans

$2,500 No Limit Hold’em Championship Event
Blinds: 10K/20K/3K ante

Hans Winzeler opened to 40,000 and was called by David Hass. The flop came AdJd6c and Winzeler checked to Hass who bet 50,000. Winzeler made the call.

The turn was the 7s and Winzeler check-called another Hass bet, this time for 65,000. Both players checked the 6s river and Hass took down the pot with his AcQh as his queen kicker would play to best Winzeler’s As9s.

Championship: Hass Doubles Through Fariab

$2,500 No Limit Hold’em Championship Event
Blinds: 8K/16K/2K ante

In one of the biggest hands of the tournament, it was three-way action to the Ah8s7d flop before they checked it around. David Hass led out for 35,000 after the 9s turn and Iraj Fariab raised to 125,000. Cliff Gladston let his hand go and Hass three-bet shoved for 422,000.

Fariab took a few seconds before calling with an open-ended straight draw 6c6h but was drawing dead when Hass tabled JdTc. The river was the pointless Th to move Hass up among the leaders.

Championship: 11th Place – Roger Goindoo ($12,000)

$2,500 No Limit Hold’em Championship Event
Blinds: 8K/16K/2K ante

The other big hand happening at the same time Rober Goindoo all-in against Bruce Snell with AdJh versus 2h2s on the Js5s2c flop. There was no help when the 8h and 4s to put him on a very short stack.

Goindoo moved in a few hands later for just 21,000 and found four callers. His opponents checked down the TdTc7c8h board before Snell bet 30,000 on the 6h river. He got folds all around until Goindoo tabled KsQh which was no good against Snell’s Ah9c straight to send Goindoo out in 11th place for $12,000.

Championship: 12th Place – Richard Kirsch ($12,000)

$2,500 No Limit Hold’em Championship Event
Blinds: 8K/16K/2K ante

Two big hands were going on at the same time and the first one saw Skip McDonough get all-in against Richard Kirsch with KhKc dominating AdQd. McDonough lead in the hand was cemented immediately on the Kd9d7h flop but needed to dodge flush outs. The board finished 3c and 5h to send Kirsch out in 12th place for $12,000.
