Michael Aron

Michael Aron 3,500 from early position and the small blind player three-bet shoved for 30,000. The big blind folded and Aron called.

Aron: JcJd
Small Blind: AdKh

Another Main Event flip and Aron dodged the overcards on the Qs5h2s6d9d board to send the field shorter. A nice run in the Main Event will push him over $1 million in a career SHRPO Shootout win and SHRPO Big 4 Championship final table.

Michael Aron – 72,000

Rodney Moret-Rojas

Scott Williams opened to 3,000 and Josh Palmer called from middle position. WSOP Circuit Monster Stack champ Rodney Moret-Rojas moved all in for 18,300 from cutoff. Williams called, Palmer folded, and the cards were turned up.

Williams: AsKc
Moret-Rojas: Jh7h

Moret-Rojas had two, live suited cards for a double but it was Williams pairing the Ks9d5h flop. The 4s turn was no help and Moret-Rojas was eliminated after the Ts river.

Scott Williams – 125,000
Rodney Moret-Rojas – Eliminated

David Bradshaw

David Bradshaw limped under the gun, the button followed suit, and Josh Richison moved all in for 13,000 from the small blind. Only Bradshaw came along to put Richison at risk.

Richison: 7h7s
Bradshaw: AhTh

Richison needed his pair to hold for his double and he faded the 9d6c3s flop. The As turn put Bradshaw in the lead and he made overkill aces-up on the Td to send Richison, the third-place finisher in the multi-day opening event, out with less than an hour remaining in registration.

David Bradshaw – 78,000
Josh Richison – Eliminated

Hui: AhKc
Stout: QsQd

Standard flip that was a lot less close after the Qc5s3c flop. The 9s turn locked the hand up for Stout and he pulled his double after the 3h river.

Stout took yesterday’s flight off, a well-deserved break after finishing second to Dominique Mosley in the WSOP Circuit High Roller.

Matt Stout – 40,000
Phil Hui – 21,000

John Magnetta

Flight B is rolling right along and we found one of our promotion seat winners. John Magnetta knows how to play the game and he earned his seat by topping the Nightly Tournament Leaderboard. The $135 buy-in tournament also awarded points and he was the clear top earner.

Magnetta had some success in the WSOP Circuit series in Hollywood back in October with a fifth-place finish in the opening multi-day event for $35,000 and he also cashed in the Main Event.

Magnetta took his seat before dinner and sits with 46,000 as they are about to roll into Level 11.

Maria Shanahan

Maria Shanahan earned a free $1,675 entry via the property’s Win a Seat promotion. She visited HardRockPoker.com, provided her name, e-mail address and zip code and was selected at random to earn a seat in today’s Main Event. Admittedly inexperienced, Shanahan is settling into her table and enjoyed a few laughs with her tablemates. Prior to registering, she got some pointers from her son, Matthew, who accompanied her to the event.

Matthew Shanahan

Both Maria and Matthew are in their seats and hope to score a nice win off mom’s freeroll.
