Justin Harvell

(Coconut Creek, FL) — Justin Harvell knows a little something about getting deep in World Series of Poker Circuit events and now the grinder can call himself a WSOPC Monster Stack champion. This was his eleventh WSOPC final table and those produced three runner-up finishes including a second-place result in this tournament last February.

Harvell was not able to break through in 2018 but now he is the proud owner of a WSOPC ring after defeating a field of 547 entries.

“I’m just so happy,” Harvell said after the win. “That’s the main thing. I’m just really happy I finally won and now I can build up from here.”

The Monster Stack was one of the biggest tournaments on the schedule and the $400 buy-in tournament never had a problem getting to the $100,000 Guarantee when the 547 entries pushed the prize pool over $180,000.

The last 63 spots were paid and they hit the money bubble shortly before the end of Day 1. Harvell returned for Day 2 near the bottom of the counts but dodged problems throughout the day until he began to heat up with two tables remaining.

Players continued to drop to the rail as Harvell rose to the chip lead and made the final table with 5.7 of the 16.4 million chips in play. He used his big stack to pressure his opponents and they were never able to put a big dent in his lead.

Harvell was responsible for five of the final table eliminations including Alan Wentz to lock up the title with a timely turned full house. Wentz battled back from less than one small blind late and took home $23,446 for his time.

Harvell happily collected his first WSOP Circuit ring along with $37,914.
