Event 12 champion, Greg Baird

(Coconut Creek, FL) – The 12th and final ring event of the World Series of Poker Circuit concluded Monday evening at Seminole Casino Coconut Creek. The $400 buy-in, two-day No Limit Hold’em event was conquered by Greg Baird. Baird, a Naples resident by way of Chicago, earned $11,385 along with his first ring.

Officially recognized as Event 12, this was a two-day tournament that kicked off Sunday afternoon at 4pm. It drew 115 entries generating a total prize pool worth $37,950. Following 18 levels on Day 1, the field narrowed to nine remaining and Baird atop the counts. Second in the rankings was Martin Ryan who, earlier this series, won a $1,125 ring event. His deep run in this $400 event officially locked up Casino Champion honors for the Trinidad resident and he was able to rest easy without a sweat in the 12-tournament race.

The restart moved fast with Baird needing only about four hours to maneuver through the final nine and claim gold on Day 2. Ryan, meanwhile, bowed out fifth tacking a few bonus points on his to Casino Championship tally.

In the end, the headline went to Baird who added to an already impressive resume that now includes over $180,000 in reported earnings.

This concludes the 2018 WSOP Circuit in Coconut Creek, but the tour returns in February for another “12 rings in 12 days” series.
