Michael Newman

Event 14 was the last chance for many players to earn a WSOP Circuit ring this series. There were still some around in the Main Event but most had to take their shot in the $400 Turbo on Sunday afternoon. When it was all settled, Seminole Hard Rock Poker regular Michael Newman walked away with his first career WSOPC title.

“I’ve won some big events, but I’ve never won a ring,” Newman said later.

Among Newman’s accomplishments, the top was conquering an incredibly talented final table in 2016 to win the Seminole Hard Rock “Rock ‘N’ Roll” Poker Open Championship for nearly $350,000. He followed that up with a huge SHR Hollywood Ultimate Re-Entry title a few weeks ago for another $183,000 to kick off his 2019 run.

While this win was for less money, Newman was still very happy to walk away with his first piece of poker jewelry.

The last ring event on the series drew 117 entries to the face-paced tournament to create a prize pool worth $38,610 with the last 12 players earning some money. Newman earned $11,581 for his day’s work along with his first WSOP Circuit ring.
