While the Main Event was playing down on one side of the room, the Seniors were playing for their title on the other. And they were having a lot of fun.
There was yelling and laughing and we had our Seniors Champion when Ronald Boehlert beat Jonathan Gordon heads-up. He was whooping it up and was very happy to take home the WSOPC Seniors ring.
The popular Seniors Event returned to The Pavilion on the penultimate day of the schedule and it drew its usual big crowd. Once again we had more than 300 players, those 50 years and older, enter the tournament to blast the $25,000 guaranteed prize pool.
They put $60,600 up for grabs with the last 33 spots getting paid. The tournament was down to the final table shortly after the dinner break and everyone was having a blast.
The laughter continued all night with Ronald Boehlert loudly and happily celebrating his accomplishment. He earned $14,240 for the win but kept rubbing his brand new jewelry whenever he had the chance.
