Nick Palma

Level 12 is nearly upon us and that means we’re nearing the end of registration in the first big multi-day event on the schedule. Event 3 blasted past its $300,000 Guarantee and the prize pool now sits at $525,000 with little time remaining to join.

Nick Palma is among our guests coming to the Sunshine State from the frigid tundra of the Northeast. The traveling pro has nearly $1.5 million in career earnings but still looking for his first WSOP Circuit ring after a bunch of close calls. Palma has reached a dozen WSOPC final tables, including a third-place finish in the 2014 WSOP National Championship, and he had two fourth-place WSOPC finishes in 2018.

John Holley

Now that business is complete in Flight C, we can take a look at the last flight. There are more than 400 entries in Flight D and the prize pool pushed over $500,000 with 90 minutes remaining to register.

We have some WSOP Circuit royalty on hand today as well with a combined ten rings between two players. John Holley owns six WSOPC titles around the country but none here in his home state. Arkadiy Tsinis won a WSOP bracelet back in 2011 and earned his first ring in 2013. He held with one ring for a few years then won three more rings in four days this past November in Las Vegas.

Re-Entry Flight C: David Moreno Triples Up

$400 No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry)

Level 14: 1,000/2,000 with a 2,000 ante
Flight C Players Remaining: 99 of 498

David Moreno (left) and Loni Harwood (right)

David Moreno open-shoved for 24,800 from under the gun and Loni Harwood raised to 53,000 with all her chips, minus her 100 and 500 denom stacks. The hijack player moved all in as well for 64,500 and Harwood called all in for 60,600 total.

Moreno: 8c8h
Harwood: JhJd
Hijack: JcJs

Harwood and the hijack player were in good shape to chop Moreno’s stack and little changed on the 9d7c3s flop. Moreno needed an eight or running straight cards and the Ts turn set him with four more outs with the jacks dead. The 6c river gave him the unlikely triple while Harwood and the hijack were dropped short.

Re-Entry Flight C: Wally Maddah in Town from Tampa

$400 No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry)
$300,000 Guaranteed | Structure
Level 11: 500/1,000 with a 1,000 ante

Wally Maddah

As we mentioned yesterday, a brand like the World Series of Poker coming to town not only attracts players from all over the globe, but it provides a world class poker experience for the Seminole faithful.

One of those Seminole faithful that made the journey to Coconut Creek from nearby Tampa is Wally Maddah. No Seminole series would be complete without Maddah and he’s enjoyed some good results right here under this roof.

It was five months ago during the September WSOP Circuit here when Maddah won the tour’s token prize — a gold ring. It came in a $250 turbo tournament and the trophy overshadowed the $6,721 prize for the decorated Maddah.

Flight C is a much different structure than the one-day Turbo Maddah previously won. If he’s able to put together a deep run in this re-entry, it will come over the course of two days and better than 20 hours of play.

Re-Entry Flight D: 4pm Play Playing; Last Chance to Get in the Game

$400 No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry)

The clock ticks to the 4pm hour and the fourth and final flight in the WSOP Circuit $400 re-entry is going at Seminole Casino Coconut Creek. Registration remains open in Flight C until about 5:30pm while players can late reg and re-enter in this Flight D until about 10:30pm.

At present, the $300,000 guarantee is already busted and this Flight D will grow it further up toward $500,000.

Here are the Flight D details:

Re-Entry Flight C: Defending Casino Champion Karthik Ramakrishnan

$400 No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry)
$300,000 Guaranteed | Structure
Level 9: 300/600 with a 600 ante
Flight C Entries: 460 (Total Entries: 1,122)

Karthik Ramakrishnan

Each stop on the World Series of Poker Circuit tour awards two $10,000 entries into the Global Casino Championship. The first goes to the Main Event champion of the series while the second goes to the player anointed the Casino Champion.

The defending February Casino Champion at this property, Karthik Ramakrishnan, is in today’s Flight C field and eyes another berth in the invite-only GCC. 12 months ago, Ramakrishnan record 2nd-, 3rd-, 6th- and 14th-place finishes at this property to don the title.

It’s still early in the series, but tops in the Casino Championship race to this point is Event 1 winner Roberto Bendeck.
