Meanwhile, Frank Giordano has taken a seat opposite the Howard Mash/Omar Diaz match, scoping out the opposition.

The first Quarterfinal match to start is the third to finish. Charlemagne Benjamin and Kyle Taddei were holding similar stacks when they put them in the middle with a coin flip.

Two of the four Quarterfinal matches were over in a blink.
Elliott Zaydman made quick work of his match against John Holley when Zaydman’s pocket jacks held against Holley’s pocket tens.
Frank Giordano’s win over Michael Lewin was a little more exciting. The chips went flying after the 
flop and Giordano’s 
was ready to crack Lewin’s 
. There was still a spade sweat for Lewin but the 
turn and 
river were no help.

The first Quarterfinal match is underway between Charlemagne Benjamin and Kyle Taddei. We’re still waiting for other pairings to finish up but we know defending champ Howard Mash is now in the money as well.
He defeated Nicholas Bauricther in his match when their final hand had Mash ahead with

before he flopped a set on the 
board. Mash still had to sweat the heart draw but Diaz blanked the 
turn and 
river.
Mash is now up against Coconut Creek Poker Omar Dash trying to move on to the Semifinals.

After a long battle, the final second round match finished up when Michael Lewin defeated Susan Steinberg. Lewin jumped right back in and is now up against Israel de la Corda for a spot in the Quarterfinals.
Charlemagne Benjamin and Corey Zeidman are the latest to advance into the money round. Any Quarterfinal matches that paired up already will kick off at 3:30pm.

Former WSOP Circuit champ John Holley quickly finished his match against Charles Biondoullo and Kyle Taddei advanced against Jason Dollinger. Holley and Taddei are on to the Quarterfinals and have at least $1,000 locked up.
