The field is building as we move into the noon hour and players wake up to play. We expect many to be firing multiple times at the tournament with the big guarantee and local Francis Margaglione will have to try again.

It was still early when he was all-in on the river with the board reading 9s5s3d4h3s and trip treys with Ax3x. He was holding the second best hand when his opponent tabled the nut flush AsQs to send him out to the registration desk.

We expect to see Margaglione around for the next two weeks and probably back in this event shortly.

Event 1 (Day 1A): 2015 Coco Poker Open Underway

$350 No Limit Hold’em Deep Stack (Re-Entry)
Level 1: 50/100

The opening event of the 2015 Coco Poker Open kicked off today at 11am with the daily reading of the rules and the first “shuffle up and deal” command of the series. This is the first event on the 11 tournament schedule and starting it off with a nice $250,000 guaranteed prize pool.

Event 1 has six starting flights between now and Saturday evening with two per day. The afternoon sessions kick off at 11am and the evening at 7pm. Players will sit with 16,000 stacks and 30-minute levels throughout the day. Late registration and unlimited re-entries are open until the start of Level 10 giving players a chance to get in the game.

Play will stop for the flight at the end of Level 14 with a nice bonus for the chip leader. The player with the most chips at the end of each flight will receive a $2,500 entry in the $1,000,000 GTD Coco Poker Open Championship on October 1.

Flight 1A should be slowest of the six with the biggest coming on the Saturday evening session, this is a good one to aim for the chip leader bonus.
