Eric Mitchell

Flight B players are getting ready to take their final break of the day with only 80 remaining.

Eric Mitchell appears to be one of our biggest stacks and he’s sitting with more than 100,000 with three more levels to go. We’ll take one last look around for the top stacks before they return to play out the evening.

Event 2A: Steven Touitou Rivers One Out

$365 No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry)
$300,000 Guaranteed |
Structure
Level 11: 500/1,000 with a 100 ante
Flight B Players Remaining: 90 of 370

Steven Touitou

Flight B dropped down to double-digit players remaining well before the final break of the day and they are aiming to end the day with 45 players or the end of Level 15.

Steven Touitou did his part to get them closer. He faced a four-bet shove for 24,000 and called with a race.

Touitou: AsJs
UTG: 8h8s

Touitou needed to catch for the knockout but missed the Qc5s4h flop. His opponent implored the dealer for low cards and found one on the 6d turn. That was the end of the good news when the dealer put out the Ah river to send the unhappy player out. Touitou, who has a handful of final tables at our sister property in Hollywood, moved up to 73,000 and in good shape to make Day 2.

Howard Mash

Flight B is moving right along with registration closed and tables breaking. There are plenty of local regulars grinding this evening including Loni Harwood, Evan Teitelbaum, Michelle Shah, and Howard Mash.

Mash has some impressive results here among his $185,000 in career earnings including back-to-back wins during the 2015 Coco Poker Open. His biggest career cash came on the other side of the country when he went deep in the 2005 World Series of Poker Main Event.

They will continue playing through to the end of Level 15 unless the pace is quicker than Flight A and they reach 45 players remaining earlier.

Event 2A: Steve Raeman Finishes Flight with the Lead

$365 No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry)
$300,000 Guaranteed |
Structure
End of Level 15: 1,200/2,400 with a 400 ante
Flight A Players Remaining: 46 of 375

Steve Raeman

Play has come to an end for Flight A with 46 players remaining of the starting 375. The rest of the flights will follow suit and complete their day at the end of Level 15. Unless another one plays down quicker, and that will change things up.

Steve Raeman made a late moved and finished with the biggest stack. His 197,000 was good enough to top Vittario Iemolo’s 153,000, Francois Zayas’ 140,000 and Eric Beringer’s 137,500.

We will have full counts for Flight A as soon as they are available.

Top ten Flight A stacks:

  1. Steve Raeman – 197,000
  2. Vittario Iemolo – 153,000
  3. Francois Zayas – 140,000
  4. Eric Beringer – 137,500
  5. Scott Vetter – 123,000

Event 2A: Michael Newman Moving up; Richard Rice Moving Out

$365 No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry)
$300,000 Guaranteed |
Structure
Level 14: 1,000/2,000 with a 300 ante
Flight A Players Remaining: 60 of 375

Michael Newman

Flight A is down to 60 players in the field and they are more likely to hit the 12% hard stop before playing through 18 full levels.

Michael Newman is making late moves as he is prone to do in these bigger field events. He sent one player to the rail in a blind-versus-blind battle to push his stack a few chips shy of 100,000.

On the other end of the spectrum, fellow regular Richard Rice moved all in with his short stack for 15,600 only to see his neighbor shove for more right behind. Rice was in trouble with AhJh against KsKh and he couldn’t catch an ace on the Ts5c2s7c6d board to send him to the registration desk for Flight B.

Richard Fortner

Players are back in their seats following break and it now appears to be Richard Fortner that leads the action with a stack of 149,500. Fortner is tops in a field that includes Sean Shah, Neil Blumenfield, Michael Newman, Paul Balzano and Steven Barnett.

Sean Shah

With the field continue to thin, Sean Shah has fattened his stack here in Flight A of the $365 re-entry.

The South Florida pro earned his first major victory right here at Seminole Casino Coconut Creek during the 2017 Coco Poker Showdown. The win opened the floodgates, though, and he went on to record two more big five-figure victories in the next two months.

Here in Flight A, Shah has had a good go of it so far and claims 114,000 chips good for one of the biggest stacks in the room.
