After busting his first entry, Tampa’s Joey Alegria is among the newest re-entry here in Flight C. Alegria, primarily a cash grinder, is one of a handful of players who made the journey from the west side of the state over to the east side for a shot a World Series of Poker Circuit gold ring. Others around from that area include the aforementioned Mike Laake, Event 1 runner-up Bryce McVay and Wally Maddah.

Alegria’s tournament career started hot as he racked up a number of cashes and multiple five-figure scores in his first year on the felt. With his last in-the-money finish occurring in September of last year, it’s been a bit since he’s found a tournament payday, but he’s off to a good start here on entry number two having recently picked up a set and sent an opponent to the rail.

Have nearly quintupled up over the first two hours of play, Jones leads the action early with blinds of 100/200 and a 25 ante.

That figure will likely be surpassed during Flight C and the prize pool will continue with registration available until 3:30pm and the fourth and final flight going this afternoon at 4pm.

Former November Niner Neil Blumenfield is enjoying his last few hours and moved his stack into contention for the end-of-flight chip. His 125,000 is among the leaders and he’s well positioned for a deep Day 2 run.
