Martin Ryan built up his stack a little more and then sent a big double to his neighbor. Ryan put Dani Dayan all in preflop for her last 109,000 and she called with a button monster.

Dayan was way ahead but Ryan flopped a big draw on the board. Any ace, queen, or heart would give him the comeback but Dayan improved on the turn to leave Ryan with eight river outs. The river changed nothing and Dayan had her double.

Only two hands were needed to burst the money bubble and we almost had two go out at the same time.

Joelle Guarino opened the action on her table and called after Bryce McVay moved all in from the small blind. That hand was anticlimactic when they both rolled over AQ for a chopped pot.

It didn’t take long after the break for Event 1 to drop to 34 players to put them on the money bubble. Tournament staff paused the clock and will take two minutes off for each hand dealt until we lose one player.

Bryce McVay turned out to be the break time leader after the black chips were colored up and we could get a better look at the stacks. He returned to a 230,000 stack to barely nudge Martin Ryan into second.

The pace slowed as Event 1 neared the money bubble but Chris Halkitis did his part to get the field shorter with a timely two-out river.

He had an opponent all in for 32,800 and dominated with against . The flop brought no drama but the turn had Halkitis looking at a bad beat. That changed with the river binked the river to send the field down to four tables.

We missed the hand but heard the ruckus. We walked over to see Michael Goldfarb stacking up a castle worth 120,000 and having a good laugh.

That was because his out-flopped  in a big way when it came for a flopped Royal Flush. Not a bad way to start off the series for the room regular.

The Event 1 field dropped an entire table before the first post-dinner break was complete and they’ll now transform into nine-handed play till the end.

Elliot Bradley is making a late move and moved over 110,000 in back-to-back hands. The first was the biggest when he opened from the cutoff and faced a 14,300 shove from the button. He called, tabled and his opponent slow-peeled for the race.

A race that was shut down in a hurry after Bradley flopped a full house on the board. The button was drawing thin to running cards then picked up four outs on the turn. Any ace or seven would give him the bigger boat but the river was a blank to send the pot to Bradley.
