Event 6 Day 1E: Final Seven Bag and Tag

$350  No Limit Hold’em
Level 14: 2,000/4,000/500 Ante
Players Remaining: 7/72

Robin Williams vs. Joe GaleWith eight players remaining in Flight E of Event 6, Joe Gale moved all in olding 8h8d and Robert “Carwash” Williams called with KcQh. The flop came safe for Gale, but Williams spiked a queen on the turn. Gale got no help on the river and was officially the flight’s bubble boy.

For Gale, the bustout was a touch ironic. He was on the opposite end of the spectrum in one of the series’ premiere events just a few days ago when he busted Abbey Daniel on the bubble in the $130 Deep Stack tournament.

Flight E is now down to the final seven players and concluded for the evening. It appears Williams will bag the chip lead. Complete combined counts will be posted shortly.

Event 6 Day 1E: Most Recent Flight Draws 72 Entries; Total Field Tops 300

$350  No Limit Hold’em
Level 10: 800/1,600/200 Ante
Players Remaining: 25/72

The second break has expired and registration is officially closed in Flight E of the $250,000 guaranteed Event 6. The fifth of eighth starting flights, Flight E drew 72 entries bringing the total field to 302 with tonight’s Flight F and tomorrow’s Flight G and Flight H still to come.

The clock shows 25 players remaining. Here a look at some of those still in contention along with their approximate chip counts:

  • Chad Freedman – 60,000
  • Miguel Martinez – 50,000
  • Joe Gale – 16,000
  • Zoltan Czinkota – 12,000

They’re expected to log a few more hours of play before the field is down to the final seven players and action wraps for the evening. Full chip counts will be posted after the flight’s conclusion.

Event 6 Day 1E: First Break Update

$350  No Limit Hold’em
Level 7: 400/800/100 Ante

Chad Freedman (Miami, Fla.)
Chad Freedman (Miami, Fla.)

Cards are back in the air following the first break in Flight E of Event 6. The clock shows 67 players registered with late registration/unlimited re-entry available until 2:15 p.m.

As of now, the tournament’s chip leader appears to be Chad Freedman of Miami. Freedman’s 12,000-chip starting stack turned into about 55,000 over the course of the first six levels and he’s off to a nice start heading to the 400/800 level.

Event 6: A Closer Look at the Multi-Stack Bonus

$350  No Limit Hold’em

Event 6 of the Coco Poker Showdown offers a bonus payout for each Day 2 a player advances to after their first. Participants are permitted to play any and all starting flights and those who advance to Day 2 more than once forfeit their smallest stack(s) in exchange for a payday equal to the value of the tournament’s minimum payout. These payouts will be processed on Day 2 after the prize pool is finalized.

No one has yet claimed the prize to this point, but four flights remain including today’s 11 a.m. (late registration/unlimited re-entry available until 2:15 p.m.) and tonight’s 6 p.m. installment.
