Howard Mash
Howard Mash

If the past is any indication of the future, we can expect Howard Mash to have a pretty decent day. He’s back in the Pavilion fresh off his second place finish in the $20,000 Guarantee Heads Up event last night where he took home $4,000 for a day’s work.

Last year Mash did it one better, he won the Heads Up event during the 2015 Coco Poker Open then turned around and won the very next event the day afterwards. If he can duplicate that feat today, it would be another great accomplishment.

Event 11 moved into the second level of the day as the entrant count clicks closer to hitting the $10,000 guaranteed prize pool. We need eight more in the game to start moving it further north.

We’re seeing some familiar faces among the four-card poker crowd including local regular Brian Gelrod. He was part of this tournament last week and was part of a four-way chop that had him taking home nearly $2,000.

2016-coco-chips

We’re in the homestretch of the 2016 Coco Poker Open and have a little four-card game on the mid-week schedule. Event 11 is a $240 buy-in Omaha Hi/Low tournament with a $10,000 guaranteed prize pool and it should draw a very talented field of specialists.

Entrants begin with 10,000 starting stacks and play 30-minute levels throughout the day. Late registration is open until the start of Level 7 around 3:10pm with unlimited re-entries during that time if they go bust. The tournament is scheduled to play out in one day day so it will move along at a nice pace.

Claudangelo Beaudouin conquered this tournament last Wednesday and we’ll be on the lookout for him again today.

Cards fly at noon and we’ll be here from start to finish.
