Josh Hillock - 24th Place ($7,000)
Josh Hillock – 24th Place ($7,000)

Josh Hillock was in no immediate danger at the restart but Andre Pillow found an interesting to win a flip.

Hillock was all-in but ahead with JcJh against AhKc. The Qc5s4s flop missed Pillow but he added a gutshot wheel draw on the 3s turn. It completed when Pillow caught the 2c river to hit the wheel and send Hillock out in 24th.

Hillock: Eliminated in 24th
Pillow: 580,000

Championship: Three Quick KOs

$2,500 Coco Poker Open Championship
Level 20: 5,000/10,000/1,000 Ante

It took less than 30 minutes to send three players to the rail and it was three of the shorter stacks.

Scott Zakheim was the first knocked out, going out in 27th place when Richard Leger’s As8h won on the Kc7h4d6d8d board. While that was going down, John Depersio was gone from Table 1 with little fanfare.

The third bustout was Tristan Wade finding a short stack AxKx but ran it straight in the AcAh of Matt Affleck. It was a good run for those three but they each had to settle for a $7,000 payout.

Chance Kornuth upbagging a lot of chips
Chance Kornuth upbagging a lot of chips

The final 27 players are making their way into the Pavilion and unbagging their chips for the final day of the 2015 Coco Poker Open Championship.

Chance Kornuth leads the way as the only player with a seven-digit stack and is one of the most experienced in the Day 3 field. His career earnings are only surpassed by 2010 November Niner John Dolan with Kornuth’s first career WSOP cash earning him a bracelet in 2010.

Kornuth isn’t the only bracelet winner coming back today. Tristan Wade won his title in 2011 while Cord Garcia’s bracelet is only a few months old. He picked up a huge payday as the last player standing in this summer’s massive WSOP Colossus event.

Wade also holds a WSOP Circuit ring but John Holley tops everyone with his three rings. There are 13 rings combined among the final 27 with Jonathan Abla and Nathan Bjerno the only other multiple winners.

Today’s players have combined for more than $20 million in career earnings and someone will add another $264,000 to their personal bankroll when we are done. John Dolan was that man last year, he’s right in the middle of the pack and will have to do some work.

Championship: Neil Blumenfield Crippled, Eliminated

$2,500 Coco Poker Open Championship
Level 19: 4,000/8,000/1,000 Ante

Michael Ortiz limps in from the button, Neil Blumenfield completes from the small blind, and James Brown checks his option in the big.

The flop comes KcTc8s, and it checks to Ortiz, who moves all in for about 90,000. Blumenfield calls with the covering stack, and Brown folds out of the way. Ortiz is at risk, and the news is not good.

Ortiz: Kd3d (top pair)
Blumenfield: Th8h (bottom two pair)

The turn and river come 5s and 5d, and Blumenfield’s two pair are counterfeited. Ortiz wins with kings up, doubling up and reducing his opponent to less than 40,000 chips.

Blumenfield is eliminated on the next hand, signaling the end of Day 2.

Michael Ortiz – 210,000
Neil Blumenfield – Eliminated

Championship: Tommy Vu Eliminated by Chance Kornuth

$2,500 Coco Poker Open Championship
Level 19: 4,000/8,000/1,000 Ante

Under the gun, Tommy Vu moves all in for about 180,000, and Chance Kornuth re-shoves from the button with his towering stack. When the blinds fold, the cards are turned up.

“I need to get lucky,” Vu says.

Vu: 8s8d
Kornuth: AcKd

The board runs out AdAs6hQd5h, and Kornuth wins the pot with trip aces.

Vu is out in 31st place.

Chance Kornuth – 1,250,000
Tommy Vu – Eliminated

Championship: Steven McKoy Eliminated by John Dolan

$2,500 Coco Poker Open Championship
Level 19: 4,000/8,000/1,000 Ante

John Dolan opens the pot from early position, and Steven McKoy three-bet shoves for about 125,000 in the big blind. Dolan calls with the covering stack.

Dolan: QsQc
McKoy: AdTd

The KdJc7s flop gives McKoy two more outs, and the Qh turn gives him the lead with Broadway. The river is the 7d, though, and Dolan fills up to win the pot.

McKoy is out in 33rd place.

John Dolan – 320,000 (40 bb)
Steven McKoy – Eliminated
