(Coconut Creek, FL) — David DiBernardi is the most recent champion at the World Series of Poker Circuit Seminole Casino Coconut Creek in South Florida. His first major career victory came in Event 2 of the series, a $400 buy-in re-entry tournament with a $300,000 guarantee. The victory marked DiBernardi’s sixth tournament win and earned him an outright score of $88,842.

“[From] 18 players down to 10 I just absolutely crushed it and got the chip lead,” DiBernardi said of a dominating performance.

Much of the dominating came with two tables remaining when DiBernardi already had the chip lead. He picked up a flush-versus-flush against John Utley who also sat toward the top of the counts. The duo got all the chips in the middle on the turn and DiBernardi’s ace-high flush was best. He eliminated Utley in 13th place and accumulated more than 8,000,000 of the roughly 24,000,000 chips in play 12-handed

From there, DiBernardi cruised through the final table ultimately scoring an outright win roughly six hours later.

The victory marked DiBernardi’s largest career score and first gold ring win. He is a 25-year-old pro and recently moved from Ohio to nearby Tampa, Florida to play poker full time. In Tampa, he plays out of the Seminole Hard Rock and has recorded a number of cashes and final tables in both daily and major events there.

Event 2 at Seminole Casino Coconut Creek drew a stout field of 1,607 entries generating a $530,310 prize pool that easily eclipsed the $300,000 guarantee. The top 171 finished in the money and joining DiBernardi as cashers were; John Holley, Sean Shah, Raminder Singh, TK Miles, Ory Hen, Kelly Minkin and others.
