Leonard St. Germain is the most recent Coco Poker Open champion following a victory in Event 11 of the 15-tournament series. The $240 buy-in Omaha Hi/Low event kicked off Wednesday in The Pavilion at Seminole Casino Coconut Creek. The 56-entry field surpassed the guarantee and saw St. Germain walk with $2,805 following a six-way chop.

Play stretched deep into the structure with six players remaining in Level 21 and limits of 16,000 and 32,000. Only 560,000 chips were in play and no one had any real wiggle room. The clock struck 11pm and per the structure sheet the decision to play the event out had to be unanimous. Arnold Cohen voted to bag and tag and that was that. After some grumbling from other competitors who wished to play it out, the final six agreed to a deal rather than head home for the night. Among those players still left were Claudangelo Beaudouin who won this very event on Day 1 of the Coco Poker Open. It was an anti-climactic finish for Beaudouin as his run at two tiles hit an abrupt halt, but he was sent home with $1,361.

The victory marks St. Germain’s third career tournament win and his 36th cash. He resides in nearby Southwest Raches, Florida.
