The heads-up battle between Curtis Daye and Phil Hui began with Daye holding a big lead. And the match lasted exactly one hand.
Seat 3: Curtis Daye – 2,425,000 (121 bb)
Seat 4: Phil Hui – 375,000 (19 bb)
Hui three-bet shipped his 355,000 stack after the first hand was dealt and Daye quickly called.
Hui was in great shape to double back into contention and stayed ahead after both paired the flop. The turn was harmless and Hui had two river outs to fade. Unfortunately for the four-time WSOP Circuit winner, the river was one of them to settle the High Roller.
Hui took home $45,421 for his two days of grinding while Daye earned $73,400 in the first WSOP Circuit event he played.
1st: Curtis Daye – $73,400 + WSOP Circuit ring
2nd: Phil Hui – $45,421
