Jerry Wong, WSOP Circuit High Roller champ

Jerry Wong went on a heater this summer in Las Vegas during the World Series of Poker and the momentum seems to have carried over to the WSOP Circuit series this weekend. He entered the High Roller event yesterday, made the final table this afternoon, and dominated to win his first career WSOP Circuit ring.

The High Roller event drew 69 entries to easily clear the $50,000 Guarantee and put $138,000 up for grabs in the biggest buy-in tournament of the series.

Registration closed at the start of Day 2 with a handful of late entries and they were down to the final table after a couple hours of play. Wong held the final table chip lead and was joined fellow November Niner Josh Beckley, WSOP Circuit winner Chad Eveslage, and Event 1 champ John DePersio.

Wong continued to build chips as player after player went to the payout desk until he was heads-up with 1,900,000 of the 2,070,000 chips in play. Mack Ham had the rest of the chips after a great comeback from 34,000 with seven remaining.

Ham managed three doubles but Wong waited him out before finishing off the High Roller with a win. Ham collected nearly $30,000 for the effort while Wong took home $48,300 along with his first career WSOP Circuit ring.

This continues a nice run for Wong. He cashed five times during the WSOP in five different poker variants for $441,000 along with three final tables. Now the November Niner can call himself a WSOP Circuit champion.

High Roller results:

1st: Jerry Wong – $48,300 + WSOP Circuit ring
