David Gunas

Robert Tanner began the heads-up match with a small deficit but quickly erased it to virtually even it up. Then they put their chips to use in one huge hand.

David Gunas opened his button for 350,000 and Tanner moved all in. Gunas thought for a few minutes before he finally tossed in some calling chips.

“Do you have aces again?” he asked Tanner.

He did not.

Tanner: 4h4c
Gunas: 2h2c

“And you have my suits covered,” Gunas commented after he saw his hand dominated.

Tanner had problems with his pairs holding at the final table but he never had a sweat as the dealer spread the 6c6d3d9sKs board to give him the hand.

They counted down both stacks and Gunas had exactly 20,000 more than Tanner. That went towards his ante on the next hand and he could not find a miracle to exit in second place.

Tanner celebrated with his wife and enjoyed the moment.

Full recap report to come later this evening.
