Event 1 Day 1D: Running for the Door

$350 Deep Stack No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry)
Blinds 250/500/50 ante

The first few flights took their time through the middle stages of the day but we aren’t seeing that today. Perhaps it’s because they have one more chance or there is a $75 Qualifier about to kick off, either way the field has dropped nearly half the starters before the second break.

Julie McGrath and Nigel Murray were just of those hitting the rail early as the tables break at a brisk pace. McGrath is waiting in the wings for the Qualifier to kick off while Murray hit the door.

Zach Kessler dropped back over the last few minutes and 2011 HPT Daytona Beach champion Nick Schwarmann came back from break with the biggest early stack. Casey Kaplan is lurking not far behind but some regulars have their work cut out for them.

Event 1 Day 1D: First Break

$350 Deep Stack No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry)
Blinds 100/200

Players are off on their first break of the day and the last chance to register for this flight. If they are unhappy with their current stack, they can forfeit it to the dealer and buy back in during the break.

We will be back shortly with the first round of chip counts.

Event 1 Day 1D: Two Bills

$350 Deep Stack No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry)
Blinds 100/200

There’s no slowing down the line as players try to get their piece of the $250,000 guarantee and the field quickly topped 200 players with half an hour left to register or re-enter.

Zach Kessler is making the most of his second bullet (today) when he enticed a call with the board reading Qh8h5dAh4d holding the second nuts Jh4h. That built his stack a bit before he knocked out a player with his opponent drawing to the nut flush AsKd on the Ts9s5s board. Kessler’s flush was already set with 7s4s and he dodged the remaining spades to move up near 80,000.

Event 1 Day 1D: Filling Fast

$350 Deep Stack No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry)
Blinds 75/150

With 170 entrants showing on the clock at the start of Level 3, it’s practically a lock this will be the biggest flight of the tournament with one more this evening. The first flight drew 189 and this should fly right by with an hour left to register or re-enter.

Zach Kessler was one of those using an early second bullet but several other new names popped up including Jessica Dawley for her first shot and three-time WSOP Circuit winner Nancy Birbaum back for another try.

Event 1 Day 1D: Level Up

$350 Deep Stack No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry)
Blinds 50/100

The first level of the day is in the books and the field quickly jumped over 100 players with 120 now on the board just 30 minutes into play. Regular Luis Santino is back in the room once again giving it a shot as well as Glen Cressman who final tabled the first event of the Seminole Hard Rock Poker Open just a month ago.

Players still have just under two hours to get in the game or come for the final flight at 7pm.

Event 1 Day 1D: Getting Underway

$350 Deep Stack No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry)
Blinds 25/50

Players are beginning to enter the Pavilion for the 4th of five flights of Event 1. The $250,000 guaranteed No Limit Hold’em tournament has already enticed 552 players to put up the $350 buy-in for a chance at the first title of the Coco Poker Open.

The board shows 50 entrants before cards were in the air with a nice line of players waiting to get in the game. They begin with 20,000 stacks and 30-minute levels, they won’t stop until Level 14 is complete later this evening. Players can re-enter, or register late, until the start of Level 5 around 1:15pm.

Those who survive to bag chips will join the 95 players who made it through the first three flights to return tomorrow for the final day at 1pm.

Tournaments staff are giving player instructions and cards will be in the air shortly.

Event 1 Day 1C: Shuffle Up

$350 Deep Stack No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry)
Blinds 25/50

Cards are in the air for the third flight of Event 1 and the Pavilion is filling back up. This group will add to the 364 entrants from the first two flights looking to bag chips after 14 levels of play.

They start with 20,000 stacks and play 30-minute levels throughout the day. Everyone who survives until nearly 3am will come back on Sunday and play down to a winner.

Event 1 Day 1B: Bagging Up

$350 Deep Stack No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry)
Blinds 1.2k/2.4k/300 ante

Play has come to an end for Flight 1B and there was a flurry of activity at the end. Nigel Murray was a late exit when his TxTx couldn’t get there against QxQx but he’ll be back. Only 31 of the starting 179 finished up with chips and they join the 35 from flight 1A.

Adewale Adeyemi dominated the final level of the day and finished as the clear leader with 410,600. He was running over the table with any two cards and set half his opponents on tilt. The next five flights will have some work to do catch him.

Back shortly with complete chip counts from the flight.
