Justin Harvell

Unlike much of Day 2, the final hand of the tournament did not put all the chips in the middle preflop. Justin Harvell and Alan Wentz saw a flop of 8h6h4h before Wentz got his 2,650,000 stack in good (at that point).

Wentz: 9h7h
Harvell: 8c6c

They both hit huge heads-up hands with Wentz ahead with his flopped flush versus eights up for Harvell. It was immediate bad news for Wentz when the 8d turn gave Harvell the full house.

Wentz had two outs for his open-ended straight flush draw but the board and tournament finished after the 4d to put an end to the Monster Stack. It was a great late run for Wentz who found himself with less than small blind with a dozen players still in the game.

Wentz earned $23,446 for his runner-up finish while Harvell walked away with $37,914 and his first WSOP Circuit ring.

1st: Justin Harvell – $37,914 + WSOP Circuit Ring
2nd: Alan Wentz – $23,446
