Our heads-up players took a short break after Stephen Diamantas was eliminated and Mark Stephen Edwards extended his lead when they returned.

Soon after, Francis Margaglione got his last 1,185,000 in the middle from the button and Edwards called with a chance to get his second WSOP Circuit ring.

Margaglione: AcKs
Edwards: Ad8d

Margaglione was in great shape for the double and the diamonds did not come in play on the Jh9s3d3s2c board to give him a small lead.

Mark Stephen Edwards – 2,210,000

Diamantas: Qs8d
Margaglione: AcKd

Diamantas had two live cards but Margaglione improved on the Kh5s4h board. The Td turn and 2s river were no help and Diamantas was gone in third place.

Stephen Diamantas – Eliminated in 3rd place ($6,064)

Two bust outs hit quickly. Michael Rosenberg went out in sixth when his AsQs lost to Stephen Diamantas’ KdJh on a Qh6s6d6cKh board and Tristan Wade was at risk soon after.

Mark Stephen Edwards opened to 105,000 from the cutoff and Wade moved all in from the button for 610,000. The blinds released and Edwards thought for a minute before he called.

“I hope you have nines,” Edwards said.

He did not.

Wade: 8c8h
Edwards: TdTs

Wade was dominated and couldn’t find a save on the AdJd2hQdAh board to send the WSOP bracelet/WSOP Circuit ring winner out in fifth place.

Edwards bet 62,000 and Miele piled all in for ~300,000 to get a quick call from Edwards.

Miele: 9s7s
Edwards: JdJs

Edwards was way ahead with the flopped set of jacks and Miele needed a six to fill his gutshot. The river blanked 5s and Miele was eliminated in ninth place.

Angelo Miele

The turbo ring event sped right along through its day until it hit the money bubble. They went into hand-for-hand mode with 19 players remaining and they stayed that way for a long time.

Long enough to go through two levels with two minutes coming off the clock for each hand dealt.

Mark “Bud” Wiser doubled up three times during that stretch, with tens and queens and kings, twice going runner-runner hearts to stay alive.

William Kennedy watched this happen at his table until he was down to 3,000 with 2,000 of that sitting in the ante. He put that one 1K chip in the middle with Angelo Miele and Mark Edwards coming along in the blinds.

Miele checked the Ac5c5s flop, Edwards bet 20,000 and Miele check-raised to get a fold from Edwards. Williams said “jack high” when he turned up Jh3h and Miele said, “you’re good boss.”

Miele showed Ts9h and the jack high was good until Miele binked the 9c turn to take the lead. The 7c river finished the board and Event 4 was in the money.
