Fernandez: Jd2c
Berman: AsQh

Fernandez had two live cards but Berman paired the Qs9h4h flop. The 7d turn was no help to our former chip leader and he was gone after the Ad river completed the board.

Julio Fernandez – Eliminated in 8th place ($8,755)

Fernandez: AcAs
Berman: 9c9h

Berman needed help and found a little on the 8d7h5h flop.

“Come on dealer,” Berman pleaded. “Give me a six.”

The dealer obliged with the 6d on the turn to give Berman the nine-high straight and the double.

Ken Berman – 3,600,000 (45 bb)
Julio Fernandez – 1,310,000 (16 bb)

Herbert Woodbery

Weiss: KhKs
Woodbery: AcKc

A cooler for Woodbery and Weiss flopped a set on the Kd9c4c board.

“Oh crap,” Weiss said when he realized Woodbery had a flush draw.

The turn blanked 6s and Woodbery could not come back as the river finished it with 9s to send him out.

Ryan Weiss – 2,750,000 (34 bb)
Herbert Woodbery – Eliminated in 9th place ($6,978)

Philip: AsAd
Bielecky: AhKs

Philip caught his rockets at a good time and the Ts9d5h2h5s gave him the double.

There was little action over the last parts of Level 28 and the ten remaining players took a break when it was complete. We did find some more information about our players including two who know each other well.

Nataliya Iakovleva is our Russian final table member and is sitting next to Yuriy Paccamakih from the Ukraine. Their connect does not stop with the origins from the same part of the world; the two are also married and each trying to win a WSOP ring.

John DePersio

John DePersio open-shoved for approximately 610,000 and Mirco Scharen reshoved from the small blind to get a fold from Fred Lee in the big.

“Crap,” was all DePersio could say.

DePersio: AcKd
Scharen: QsQc

It was a flip for DePersio’s tournament and he paired the KsQh4c flop. Unfortunately for our Event 1 champion, Scharen flopped a set and sent him out after the 9s turn and 5s river completed the board.

With that elimination, Event 2 is down to the final table ten.

Daniel Couzens open-shoved from the hijack for 580,000 and it folded around to Yuriy Pacchmalich in the big blind. He thought long enough to have the clock called and he called the shove.

Pacchmalich: AsTs
Couzens: JhJd

Couzens was in great shape for the double and faded the 9c9h2d flop. The Tc turn paired Pacchamlich and the Th river complete runner-runner trip tens to send Couzens out in 13th place.

Soon after, former SHRP champ Zoltan Czinkota moved his 275,000 short stack in from the button with Kc4c and ran into Daniel Couzens’ AcJd. He had two live cards but Couzens took the lead on the Js8h5h flop and it stayed that way after the 2h turn and Td river.
