Defending champion Kammar Andries busted his second entry just moments ago and his run at a follow-up WSOP Circuit title has officially come to a close.
After busting entry number one, Andries got back in the game but found himself all-in a short time later. There was a late-position raise and he jammed the button for about 13,500. The raiser called and Andries was racing for his tournament life.
Raiser: Andries:

With that, Andries second entry came up dry. On his way out the door, he let staff know he has school tomorrow and won’t be able to defend his title.

There was three-way action on a flop. There was a lead for 4,600, a call by Joey Bayer and action was on Sean Shah on the button. He three-bet to 15,000. It was back on the bettor and he shoved. Bayer shoved for more and Shah open-folded pocket queens — an overpair. It was a good fold as Bayer showed for bottom set while the opponent had for top pair top kicker.
Turn and river:
Bayer smacked quads and eliminated the opponent in dramatic fashion while growing his stack to nearly 100,000.

The second break of the day wrapped just moments ago and players are back in their seats to blinds of 250 and 500 with a 75-chip ante. Andrew Blake crossed six-digit threshold as he’s over 100,000. Recently-annointed Seminole Hard Rock Poker Player of the Year, Brett Bader, meanwhile, is at starting stack as one of the tournament’s most recent entries.

With registration and re-entry available until about 8:30pm, there’s still plenty of play left in Flight A of the WSOP Circuit Main Event. But with four hours already in the books, action has reached the middle stages where the upward tick in entries can’t keep up with the players hitting the rail. Tables are beginning to break slowly and some Flight A plot lines are starting to take shape.
One of those plots is poker pro Phil Hui. Hui is a gold bracelet champion and five-time WSOP Circuit gold ring winner and also claims one of the largest stack in the room here in South Florida.
The $2,200 High Roller restarted just about 20 minutes. Alongside that kicked off a $250 mega satellite into the Main Event and with that, nearly every table in The Pavilion is full as the weekend play is officially underway at the WSOP Circuit.
The day’s headliner — the Main Event — shows 252 in the action with registration and re-entry available until roughly 8:30pm.
$1,700 Main Event (Single Re-Entry) $1M Guaranteed | Structure Level 4: 100/200 with a 25 Ante Entries: 232
The Seminole Casino Coconut Creek schedule ramped up yesterday with the $2,200 buy-in High Roller. That event attracted some new faces to the series and many are in the game again here in the $1,700 buy-in Main Event. While Brian Hastings and others are new adds to the property, Stu Paterson is a regular and looks to add to his South Florid accolades.
Paterson has recorded cashes all over the globe, but two of his three tournament wins have come right here at Seminole Casino Coconut Creek. The Florida pro has nearly $900,000 in reported earnings and a deep final table run in this Main would likely move him to seven-figures lifetime.
$1,700 Main Event (Single Re-Entry) $1M Guaranteed | Structure Level 3: 75/150 with a 25 Ante Entries: 215
With the tournament room filling in there is plenty of shaking up early in Day 1A of the WSOP Circuit Main Event. Florida’s Mike Laake has moved up and down the counts and recently earned a few of his lost chips back. Facing a bet of 500 on a board of , Laake raised to 1,400. The opponent found a fold and Laake turned over for an open-ended straight and flush draws. The pair exchanged some friendly words while Laake raked a small pot.
Players are roughly 20 minutes away from heading on break and the clock shows 215 registered to this point.
There’s a steady move upward for the entry county as players have filed in one after the other since play began just about 30 minutes ago. More than 35 additional have taken their seats and it sets the tournament up well for a big field and a prize pool in excess of $1,000,000.
A reminder, players are permitted a single re-entry per flight with registration available until about 8:30pm. Those unable to make it for today’s installment have another option to get in the action tomorrow as well.
