On the other end of the spectrum, fellow regular Richard Rice moved all in with his short stack for 15,600 only to see his neighbor shove for more right behind. Rice was in trouble with against and he couldn’t catch an ace on the board to send him to the registration desk for Flight B.

Fresh off a gold ring win in yesterday’s one-day $365 buy-in, Martin Ryan is cruising here in Flight A of the re-entry. He’s turned his 10,000 starting chips in to about 110,000. During today’s early morning hours — shortly after his win just before 4am — Ryan told reporters he was playing today’s Flight A and hoped to bag so he earned a day off and could go to a flea market tomorrow.
So far so good for the flea market.
Joining Ryan as some of the tournament big stacks are Niall Costigan and Paul Balzano. The pair hovers right around the 85,000 mark but it’s Costigan who currently has Balzano edged out slight.
The clock shows 90 players remaining as well over two-thirds of the field has hit the rail. Flight A play is scheduled to go through Level 18, but the 12-percent hard stop will likely hit before then. If it does, all subsequent flights will match the levels played in Flight A.

Wally Maddah, a staple at the Seminole Hard Rock in Tampa, made the journey across the state yesterday and enjoyed a night in South Florida before getting in the game in today’s Flight A of the $300,000 guarantee.
With more than $300,000 in reported earnings over the course of 125 tournament cashes, Maddah has had his share of success on the felt. He’s yet to record a cash here in Coconut Creek, though, and hopes to change that in this big-field event.
