Rogelio Padilla

Rogelio Padilla was down 105,000 and put those chips in the middle on the final table bubble. Alfred Karlsson and Byron Schenk called in the blinds to the Ah5h2c flop.

Karlsson bet 80,000 and Schenk raised to 320,000. Karlsson called, the turn came Ac, and Karlsson checked. Schenk bet another 325,000 and Karlsson released.

“Give me a six,” Padilla asked the dealer.

Schenk: As8s
Padilla: 6c6h

Padilla had two saving outs but was sent out in 11th place after the 9s river to set up the final table.

Byron Schenk – 6,500,000 (81 bb)
Alfred Karlsson – 1,670,000 (21 bb)
Rogelio Padilla – Eliminated in 11th place ($7,158)

Event 2 players went on another break and they continue to take their time mixing it up. They are sitting on an average stack at 20 big blinds so we expect something to break loose in the next level or two.

Byron Schenk continues to lead but no one is safe at this level.

Mike Policastro

The remaining players seemed to be in no hurry to get their chips in the middle and it was becoming desperate for more than a few as the average stack dropped to 22 big blinds.

Mike Policastro thought he found the perfect spot to get some chips back.

Rogelio Padilla open-shoved for 375,000 from under the gun and the move made it around to Policastro in the small blind. He moved all in to get a fold from the big blind and Padilla was not happy to see the hands.

Policastro: AdAc
Padilla: 8s8c

Padilla was halfway out of his seat when the dealer put out the Th8d6d flop. He sat back down after hitting the set and Policastro could not return the favor on the 9c turn or Qs. He was down to 240,000 and hit the payout desk on the next hand.

Rogelio Padilla – 820,000 (21 bb)
Mike Policastro – Eliminated in 20th place ($4,005)

The pace slowed after the three-table redraw but they are heating back up. The biggest hand of the tournament so far saw Alfred Karlsson open to 50,000 from under the gun and Bryon Schenk three-bet to 76,000 from the cutoff.

The button and blinds released before Karlsson called to the 7c6h2d flop. Karlsson checked, Schenk bet 80,000 and Karlsson called again.

It was a bigger bet of 325,000 from Schenk after Karlsson checked and he called after checking out Schenk’s stack. He had 417,000 behind and put them in the middle after Karlsson checked the Ad river.

“I have a good hand,” Karlsson told Schenk.

After a few minutes, he tossed in a calling chip and Schenk tabled his hand.

“I only have three sevens,” Schenk said to get a laugh from the rest of the table. His 7h7d was good and Karlsson mucked. Schenk moved into the lead while Karlsson was left with a short stack.

Bryon Schenk – 1,900,000 (79 bb)
Alfred Karlsson – 350,000 (15 bb)
