I CARE Foundation Survivor Event Sees Final 10 Pocket $1,200

2016 Coco Poker Open
Seminole Casino Coconut Creek
Coconut Creek, FL
Event #10
$175 No Limit Hold’em Survivor
Entries: 60
Prize Pool: $12,000
September 27, 2016

Event 10 of the Coco Poker Open lightened the mood in The Pavilion Tuesday evening with a unique event raising awareness for local youth. A $175 No Limit Hold’em Survivor tournament began at 6pm and had a charity component to it that saw $45 of each buy-in go to the I C.A.R.E. Foundation, a South Florida organization that assists underprivileged individuals in their journey to a better life. In all, 60 entries ponied up the buy-in with each of the final 10 survivors pocketing $1,200. Lorenzo Hampton bowed out 11th, leaving the rest of the field in the money.

By his own account, Evan Dollinger held 95,000 of the 600,000 chips in play and was the chip leader at the time of the chop. Joining him in the money were John Holley, Daniel Genachte and former professional football player Errict Rhett. The latter was part of a strong contingent of retired professional athletes that turned out to support fellow pro James Pruitt, the founder of I C.A.R.E. In addition to Rhett, Hampton too played professional football.

The final 10 players weren’t the only winners Tuesday at Seminole Casino Coconut Creek. Tournament buy-ins raised $2,700 for I C.A.R.E. with any private donations and revenue from the silent auction adding to that figure.

Here’s a complete look at those players who went home with a payday:
